Maybe, then again, it was more original than just a blue haired super saiyan, a red haired normal goku, or anormal goku with a weird aura and weird pupils (Ultra insticts). At least it required more than randomness and just "the will to be stronger", at least it had draw backs like Goku getting too cocky.

That's... that's not an actual drawback of SSJ4.

Super Saiyan God also had an actual different method to get it, but the Golden Great Ape thing was slightly more continuity-friendly. Still not exactly, and continuity got thrown out the window back in DBZ when a bigwig editor said "I can't take Cyborgs 19 and 20 seriously."

If only you knew, DBGT had more than twice the viewers rate of Dragon Ball Super and is actually infinitely more popular in japan (you know the one place that actually matters).
Dragon Ball GT is displayed in pretty much all of the dragon ball contents like heroes or Dokkan and such.
