What happens when a Bald Saiyan goes Super Saiyan?

Cause I don't think Super Saiyans grow hair, rather it just shoots straight up or at least you need to have some hair to start with in order to grow more...?

Only his eyes would turn blue, the Super Saiyan shoots upwards causing the hair to get stiff.
I think that this would be excluded with the Super Saiyan 3, which makes all the hair of the body go to the head.
