Once you marry your beloved wife will take care of it for you unless its raining. she will gather the chicken eggs, but when I last played she still did not pick up duck and goose eggs, they disapeared but never seemed to show up in the inventory in the basement like the chicken eggs do. dont waste your money on pigeons they did nothing for the farm.

Matbe you can help me with the modern pickup truck? e.g.: What does it do the old PU doesn't? What is the crane for?

The crane at last play thru was used for picking up building supplies at the store and bring them back to the farm, Unless something fantastic has happened its not good for much more. the crane can be used to pick up the purchases from the dock and placing on your flat bed truck I guess its might be called a lorry or something like that over in Europe I have not played for maybe a year now so some things may have changed. Let me know if i must play again to learn new things. Take care (Im still waiting for final in the game)

The pickup truck that came with the farm worked just fine since when i 1st started playing the game. All i did was drive the truck to the supplier, walk inside, buy say roof material, and it appeared on the loading dock outside. I would pick up the roof material off the dock with my hands and then just get in the truck. Drive back to farm and install. I can still o that so i guess the crane is useless.

with the larger truck if you choose to use it you can buy several different types of items, drive home and not have to drive back to the materials store when you use all of it up or want to change to another item, You just walk to your truck, Or if you want to load up say your hay barn with building supplies you would go there. I loaded what I needed into my hay barn.

I'm kind of different kind of player and chose to repair as many other farms as I was able to and used the flat bed truck to drive around with bricks, wood, wood glaze etc on it and repaired homes at my cost, cause I was killing time after all accomplishments waiting for son to go to school. but I'm weird, I know and at that time the supplies were easy access etc. what I love about these games is you can play from lots of different angles.

I was hoping the crane would pull the stumps out of the ground and be able to lift and move the stones around my yard.

Sorry no, I was hoping the chain saw or weed wacker would remove those rotating bushes too. Hope you are enjoying the game anyway, I really enjoyed it a lot when I was playing it, I now mostly just try to help people and occasionally test things, cause I dont remember. Enjoy.

You can also just drive your truck to the building supply store and park it, and use it to teleport back and forth. Much faster then driving back and forth.

I have completly fixed up my farm so i have little use for going to the material suppy store

It would be a great travel vehicle or I left my old harvester down at the bottom parked out side for fast travel, perhaps parked where you travel regularly. Or you can always return it for credit. Anything that I had I could use for fast travel I kept and the regular old used equipment i re-sold. but lawn mower, tractors, harvesters , trucks were parked all over the map. Just a thought. Play it however you feel good about it.

I would have liked to use the truck to pick up bales. Driving round with the trailer and keep getting out the tractor to pick them up by hand is hard work. Also I would not need the trailer so have more parking space.
