Unable to cook
Okay idk if i'm confused or what, but there are wiki entries indicating that once you get the three recipe books, you should be able to cook the tier 3 recipes, like the ice cream, and the apple pie

for some reason, even though i have the ingredients, and i can select the recipe from the cookbook on the right (like hover over it), it doesn't let me cook it. am i doing something wrong? am i dumb?

like, am i to understand i can't cook anything other than tier 2 things? i have to get a wife to cook anything tier 3 and wait for her to make everything? this feels like a bug more than by design cuz why would there even be recipe books if i can't make any of the recipes? how am i supposed to make the most out of my food if i can't cook my own meals at scale and sell it myself?

the following post entry from https://farmers-dynasty.fandom.com/wiki/Food indicates you should be able to cook tier 3 recipes

If you get married, your Wife will produce a few meals once a day, (using raw food you have stored in the Pantry downstairs... don't forget to buy a cat!) She's also a better cook than you are, and her meals will restore +100 of your food conditions, which should certainly be enough to keep your own status up, but to make enough food to sell, you will need to make it yourself, just like when you were a bachelor!

please help

Just to be sure, because I don't see the icon: Are you playing on PC or console? As far as I know there is a massive bug in the console version where cooking does not work correctly. This is not the case on the PC version.

Sadly, the console version is in the hands of a different studio and the help we can offer with it and updates there is quite limited. We still hope that such issues can be patched.

So sad and always has been. This is why I purchase games only for pc. I understand; pcs are too pricey for many good people, but my heart never quite understands why game developers and publishers so quickly get into bed with console labels.

Any game publisher ought to have iron-clad contracts that instantly enforce monetary penalties for slow leaking on patches and updates for the console customer base. And publishers should be forthright in informing in bold, underlined print that potential buyers of console games, that the console manufacturer provides sole support for the quality enhancement of the purchased game, and the buyer signs an acknowledgment before the sales transaction proceeds to check out.

It's a low blow for console players to find out the hard facts of the gaming empire after purchase and then after many long hours of falling in love with a game and all the grind, it takes to get to a certain point, only to have to face a dealbreaker.

I'm so sorry, Ordainty! I really hope that more can be done for the console version. If I learn any news on that topic, I will let you know.

LUCKY FOR ME the game just went on sale on steam and i got it! yesssssss
Now you're cooking :steamhappy:

BTW you can buy the recipe books, read them, and then sell them and still "remember" the recipes (just a money saving tip).
