The farm's buildings don't have to all be upgraded first. Making the house, chicken coop, and cow shed barely liveable is enough for starting. 2 chickens, a roster, and two cows are enough to keep the farmer's energy levels up.
7 to 14 greenhouse seeds make for a good start.
Eating/selling processed food cooked on the stove is more nutritious and sells for a higher price than any raw food.
It depends on whether you want to try farming or win a game. A moderator from one of the other Dynasty games gave me a significant bit of advice shortly after its EA release. “Take your time and try to enjoy it.”
Well, I'm not telling anyone how they should play their game; I'm just sharing how I begin every fresh start of FD.
All this is very doable without a bank. I use the Official Guide, and though slightly outdated, it's still full of valuable ideas and methods for enjoying Farmer’s Dynasty.
