brand new beet harvester....but no beets
I finally took the plunge and bought the massive beet harvester. I brought it to my home plots and began to harvest. Within two rows the machine was full and ready to put into storage...upon which I received an error message of 'the silo already has grain in it, you are losing grain'...what? these are beets! I was putting them in the large hoppers on the side. I turned on my engineer sight and it said they were both empty. GRRRR. So all of the beets I've harvested are gone? Help plz. ty!

Your scenario is kind of puzzling. I've done beets and potatoes (the equipment and storage will call them 'grain' anyway).

Did you offload your beets from the harvester into a smaller tracketor and trailer, and then drive trailer onto the concrete ramp next to the greenhouse to offload your beets? Or did you try to dump the beets into the exclusively grain silo grate?

I'm asking these questions for clarification, because word pictures, no matter how well explained sometimes falls short. :-)

Beets go into the Beet/Potato storage next to the greenhouse not the silo. BTW It can be a bit tricky to find the exact place to get them out again.

Here's what I've been doing, I run the harvester, then 1. stop harvester when full, 2. driver over to the bin area of potatoes/beets and expand the chute 3. I offload into the bin.

Would it help to put them into a trailer first? I notice the grate in the ramp and wondered about it. I'll do one more run and dump the load into a trailer and try again and let you know what happens.

It worked! I used a smaller trailer, so lots of trips, but it worked. Thanks for the advice!
