Some think this is a bug, but I personally believe that these extra eggs are a "pool" of eggs that can be hatched to gain more hens - if you have a rooster purchased.
Recent testing in a new game, I purchased 1 hen, rooster, ducks & geese. On the second day the rooster did his job well & a extra hen was added to the flock. I had some extra eggs that could not be collected with this game. These results are similar to most my other games, in that the game will have an information message that the rooster has done his job, & new hens were added. If you already have the maximum hens in the coop, then the extras are sold. Else, new hens will be added to the coop.
A new test game, I only bought 10 hens & a rooster - no ducks or geese. So far I do not have any extra eggs that cannot be found, which does confirm (so far) that the extra eggs are tied to the geese & ducks. I am going to run this new save for a while to see if the rooster will add any new hens to the coop.
Note: I did purchase pigeons in the previous save, but have not bought any yet for the newest save. If no new hens after a while, I intend to purchase some pigeons first, then add ducks & geese later, to see if the extra eggs are added. And if then the rooster starts the repopulating my hen house.
Before I got the ducks/geese, I had a full hen house w/rooster, and I never had any extra or un-found eggs but still got the "your rooster did a good job" notice and I did have 21 hens that day (which was automaticly sold the next day due to already having max hens).
I think the Devs have done a really good job with the updates and they have improved the game tremendously to what it was when I last played it.
ONE QUESTION: I would like to take advantage of one of the updates to change the colour of my house and buildings, have looked on the tube and cannot find anyone doing it - How do you change the colour, I have lost the mustard yellow and now have 'Magnolia' on all the buildings, I assume the colour change must have happened with an update. I would like BLUE but do not know how to do it - Can you help please?
To change the style/color of the exterior buildings bricks you will have to buy the plaster coat (not the scratch coat & finish coat - those are for interior finishes). The concrete plaster will have a color select option display when you click on the skid of materials. Once you choose a color, then you can purchase as many skids as you require. The skids will be placed on the dock that is just opposite of the location you purchase them.
If you don't have a truck to transport the skids of material, you can use either fast travel or the bus stop to load up some materials, & then return to your farm & upgrade things.
Check it out at the 6 minute marker.

Oh and after 2 of each, they dont leave the barn
I still personally believe those extra eggs are tied to the rooster ...doing his job, & creating new hens. On my current two games, I only bought hens & the rooster. Still no information prompt that the rooster is increasing my flock.
I have the rooster message a few times now, spoiler alret, $60 is what you get.
Yes, but have you have the extra eggs, & the ducks & geese. So far in my saves without ducks & geese (& pigeons), I have not yet ever seen the rooster message.
UPDATE - Finally had the rooster ...do his job, & I got some additional hens. So appears that do not need the extra eggs for this to happen.
Like he said, Merck's just dead-on about that color scheme. Don't make the same mistake I did, and think that it would be easy to change. Tried it. Stuck with the butter color that I can see from Old Man's Wharf. Sinful.
If I'm not mistaken, if not using a truck, you can only take one pallet's worth at a time. After you buy it, you have to physically walk to the loading lock, and "E" on it. After your work, what you don't use will stack up on that original pallet, even if there's room for the same thing on another. I might be just totally wrong on this. I don't know if you can stack it anywhere on your farm, other than on a truck.
It should also be noted that, while upgrading, it is possible to run out of materials from the loading dock before you're done with your work. If this happens, you will need to get some more, and even though the loading dock is always open, the furniture AND materials areas of the store do close (I think about 20:00, like John does). I think when you "tab,"... it tells the time... and if there's a moon icon next to the time, most places aren't open.
Not sure if it's a glitch, but my steel pile near my greenhouse NEVER runs out. Maybe I can pull a Farming Sim 18 and spend the day selling infinite piles of this free stuff back to the warehouse.
