- Gender always starts male. This was a compromise on Toplitz's part, since it was easier to code only one gender which would be able to gain enough 'points' to become eligible to marry. Coding would have to be added to allow either gender to be able to gain enough points, & then checks to see which gender the player chose to start with.
- Now would this affect which partner could cook "Delicious Treats"? This is currently only the wifes ability, but if started out female, would this give those players an additional 'advantage' at start? Or would they be limited to "canned foods" (like the males), until they get married???
- Starting farm is the same for everyone. This would be one of the biggest changes that would require addressing. Many players have requested that they be allowed to 'start' a farm most anywhere on the map (there are many 'open' spaces on the map). Maybe with a system of building 'templates' that could be 'ghosted' over a spot, & then placed. All to be built (or start in run-down state), as you work your farm.
- Beginning quests (tutorials). Would they be eliminated? Or only for single-player mode?? Otherwise there would have to be a way to keep those fields/building/missions available for all other players to be able to do.
- Machinery Dealers. Would have to have more equipment available for purchase. This could easily be changed though, by having you select your vehicle (either inside from brochures/catalog, or outside from vehicles displayed). Then when you purchase an item, it would "appear" in a spot set asside for that at the dealership. Thus, you would not actually take the displayed vehicles, but the one that 'appears' in the "sold" spot.
Granted there would be a bunch of new coding, but theoretically it would be possible. If you take a good look at the game & how it is currently configured, I don't really see an easy way to convert it to run as multi-player. I believe that the game would have to be completely re-written, to make multi-player an option. So maybe a "Farmer's Dynasty" New generation game could be completely designed from the ground up as a multi-player game??? Note: I would be interested in such a new game
But simple economics & such will show that the current version, would likely have to be completely re-done to make the multi-player version. And I believe if players look at it logically, then they would see the same thing.
It MIGHT work if all the neighbouring farms started off as being managed by NPC's as they are now, but each new player gets one at random and becomes the new owner of it. Once more, the map would have to be considerably larger because, as you buy more land, it's going to run out fast with several players on it.
It would be nice to hire other players the way we do with NPC's currently to do certain jobs they might enjoy doing. I hate ploughing but don't mind cultivating, fertilising and sowing, therefore, I'd be inclined to hire a player who doesn't mind ploughing. In turn, they might hire me to fertilise or sow their land because it's something they don't like doing.
This would fix gender issues, whose-farm-is-it issues etc.
