reasons...
why does it matter? for an early access title every single solitary line of code, every graphic is subject to change at any moments notice, or not change.
that is what you sign up for in early access
the game was just released about an hour ago. information is now already out that its not john deer.
how many people in that hour bought the game in a total nern frenzy for john deer within that hour?
Would I buy because it was John Deere? Absolutely not. However, knowing that they were so reckless with licensing is one of those things that make you go "hmmmm." It is good knowledge to have.
Just like knowing that sports bar I go to down the street only has licenses for 3 tv's, and get's the signal for the 4th from their neighbor. Shady business dealings may or may not be a deal breaker, but knowing about them up front is great.
now on that point, I would suggest for people who are that concerned about developers integrity they really should stay away from ALL early access titles.
Early Access is by its nature a risk, or for people (like me) who dont give a ^&(( about developer integrity, plans for the future, promises, communications, or games being released.
All I care about is fun right then right now that moment, planning for the future as an Early Access consumer is a very bad idea, you should only look at current

most likely not.
Most likely they were in process of getting it and the deal fell thru. That is likely all that it is.
