Which women are not marryable?
I've been trying to get Lydia as a wife, but from doing a search on here, it seems like she has a quest about pining for another NPC that prevents you from ever getting her to that stage.

Are any of the other women similarly a dead-end for courting? Is Alexa marryable? (I wonder only because she has the same model as Lydia and I don't know if they just made that model off-limits instead of only Lydia).

Most people marry the daughter of the farmer across the lake, Janet!

I am going for someone else for exactly that reason LOL

Females that are not available for marriage:
  1. Lydia - Her quest is to link up with another male NPC, so she will never have eyes for anyone else.
  2. Carla Clara - She has the quest for the old plow, & after that she will only talk about farming practices.
  3. Coffee shop vendors - Developers have stated they are only here to work.
  4. Rose - ?? While operating the booth at the September Festival she is just like the Coffee shop ladies. Rest of the year??
All other ladies should be available for marriage. If you receive a dialog option to compliment the lady, then you have a chance at marriage.

Marriage takes a very long time - especially with some of the ladies. There is a section in the forum; A quick guide for new players..., where some players have documented the various factors involved. See page 2 https://steamcommunity.com/app/678900/discussions/0/1620600279658021873/

To marry:
  1. Compliment the lady you want to marry. But don't over do this - one compliment per day is best. More can actually set back your lady liking you.
  2. Use Engineer Sight (ES) (default RMB) to gauge your ladies happiness with you.
    • Yellow face with frown - starting condition
    • Green face with smile - getting warmed up
    • Green face with heart shaped eyes - starting to like you
    • Green face with red heart shaped eyes - definitely time to start looking at gifts & marriage proposal
  3. Often you can give gifts, starting at the Green face with heart shaped eyes. Again don't over-do it - one per day.
  4. Doesn't seem to matter a lot what gift.
  5. When you see the face with red heart eyes, watch for the proposal to marry. I have even gifted the lady at this stage, & then immediately re-checked the dialog. The marry option was there, so I popped the question.
  6. Not really sure if complimenting multiple ladies affects your prospects? This would be a good thing for someone to test out. The main factor seems that if you over-compliment a lady each day - as per tests by another player. Complimenting ladies after you marry will get you a new dialog though.
Marriage happens immediately after you propose. So no worries about planing the event or who pays for it :steammocking:

Yes indeed they can take a long time. Especially for those that have no available quests, which really shorten the time required to get the ladies to like you.

Yup. She hasn't had a quest for me yet so .... yeaaaaaaa. Maybe I will go for one of those who need ... packages ....

Hi Merck, for 2., do you mean Clara? Your second quest-giver, close to your home to the NW?

She starts off "really fond of you" but unfortunately you can't build on that...

Yes correct - I see I did misspell her name, & will correct that above. Thanks!

Good to see you are still the main advocate for this game, Merck. It's been a long development, hasn't it.
Merck Dec 9, 2019 @ 8:50am
Yes many games these days have long developments. 7 Days to Die, is still in alpha - they just released Alpha 18.

I personally enjoy these types of games, since there is always the possibility to have new things added or changes in the mechanics. So the games can always be fresh, & keep the game interesting to play. Additionally, the developers are usually quite receptive to input from the players, which allows us to add ideas that we may think will improve the game overall.

Eddy Merck,

And thanks for not giving out all answers to the game (like some people want). It's supposed to be a fun adventure, not just three hours to spend for buying all the fields, tractors, etc., just to move on afterwards. Plowing is supposed to take time, and be a task.... or to realize that a few fields will take multiple days to plow; even to travel to, so you have to make the decision of value.
I just recently took on a quest to cultivate, saved, then found out that they want it plowed, too. A lesson to learn, not just "cheat-on-by."

I'm trying to learn the lesson of the rebuttal being "I don't even watch TV" - to see if that means, 'Fool, why would you waste my time with all that drama."

But in the meantime, I have to go plow a field.
