I have suggested that the livestock should give a big boost to production with the first level (Repairs), but then after the Upgrade they would give a final little bump to the production of the livestock.
There is an exception to the cosmetics of the Upgrades, in that Solar Panels on the roofs will give a bump to your SP on every sunny day.
I also forgot to mention that you will make a little bit of income (along with the SP) for having solar panels on your farm buildings.
If there are any that it reports as not finished, I can maybe help you figure out the problems.
Another option is to upload your save game files (all eight) to a location that I can access them. Then I can find your problem locations.
There is some tips in the forum; A quick guide for new players....

And some additional information about the house on page 2.
Some things to check on the house itself:
- The whole base concrete around the perimeter.
- Bathroom ceiling
- Back left wall inside kitchen
- Attic floor
These are usually some of the problem areas on the house.
