Quests - new level of retardation
After the first winter, I was quite excited seeing there is new field work quest - cultivating. Guy asked me to cultivate his field and promised to pay me 400 Euros for that. I got my tractor and cultivator and set out to the field.

Oh boy... I probably could have lived with the fact, that the field was not plowed, so cultivating did not make much sense. But reality was much worse. There was a wheat already growing on the field! So when I was cultivating as asked, game was screaming at me all the time that I'm cultivating field that was not plowed, so crops yield will be ♥♥♥♥, and that I'm destroying crops growing on the field. Nonetheless, the guy was happy I destroyed his crops and screwed his field by out of order work process and paid me the money.

Seriously, devs? I can barely imagine something more immersion breaking than this...

There are still a few oddities in the county. But many players have found that they can make it work real well for themselves, by first harvesting the standing crop, & then cultivating it for the farmer.
Win - Win.

Plus if you think about it; The farmer could be using the crop as a green manure, which granted in my area is usually a hay type crop such as alfalfa. But either way the crop is plowed under to enrich & help loosen the soil by working some fibrous matter into it, while also adding some natural nitrogen that the plants have gathered from the air

Alfalfa is part of the legume family. This means it has the ability to fix nitrogen from the air and store it in nodules in their roots. So these cold-weather legumes will grab the nutrient from the air & store it for use during the growing season, which then is plowed down to take advantage of those nutrients.

Winter rye puts on a huge amount of growth in the spring, and establishes easily even into late November. And the best part of rye is its ability to hold fertility over the winter. Even when 2 to 4 inches high in November, it binds up many of the soluble nutrients that might otherwise disappear down to the water table. Then there is the bonus of a large crop of green manure to plow down in the spring.

Yea the first time you run into that is a real shock, The first time I ran into it the crop was not ready so I put it off until it was ready, then harvested, sold plowed and cultivated the field. I understand how confusing it can be. Now I go to the field and look at it before I accept the jobs so I'm aware of the situation before I accept.

but if you accept the task, you have a certain amount of time to do it.
or does the task come back later when the harvest is ripe?
I am still working on it without waiting.

There is a set amount of time to finish the job - or as one of the help texts states; you can loose Social Points if wait too long.

You can decline a job when you first view them, & wait to see if some other will appear. They usually change daily.

Another dooms sayer.
I have played through a bunch of the same - & will keep playing long after all them have left.

I'm there too. Gotta get my Janet life on !!!

Plus, that's assuming there will never be upgrades that include these things that people talk about, like hunting or cooking contests, fishing derbys, or the thing I would expect this game to be a perfect platform: parkour.

Fishing Derby +1 all i ever get are the drone races that i suck at. Havent seen a mushroom picking contest since my first game...

Odd, I got a mushroom picking contest almost immediately, along with the drone races. I mow the areas near my farm that are known to provide mushrooms, & have picked them a couple times. I don't know if that may have triggered the mushroom contest??

Prior to the mushroom contest I stopped picking, thinking that it would build up a bunch of mushrooms. But, it ended up adding mushrooms for the contest. So it appears to make sure there are mushrooms for the actual contest. And I was able to run to other nearby patches to gather a bunch. Was an easy contest to win.

I have had several Mushroom contests. I'm not sure what is wrong with your game. I once had a contest that required me to pick a total of 3, yes three mushrooms and it was done in a matter of seconds. I wasn't happy since I hope for around 20 or 30 mushrooms per contest so I can make my A la Forest recipe.
