But, you still can teleport directly to any of your vehicles by clicking on them anywhere in the map (default M). This is a possible good reason to keep old vehicles (instead of selling them), since you can pre-place them around the map as additonal teleport/fast travel locations. These can greatly speed up some of the "transport" jobs for example. Note; this only works with 'drivable' vehicles, & not the impliments.

Every time I start a new game, I immediatly broker a contract with all the NPC's, which allows me to travel all over their properties (except for fields with crops, of course). So this allows me to also greatly shorten travel times to many of the different locations. The sweetest part of the contract, is that it is worded that the NPC's can ask for the rent any time they want too. All they have to do is stop at my farm to collect.
But seriously, If you look at the prompt for the job, it will usually tell you what type of job it is, so you can bring the appropriate equipment with you.
And finally, there is some helpfull hints & tips in the forums. One that has a majority all together is the forum; "A Quick Guide for New Players.."
