Admit, have you ever seen a yellow farm? It's all to modern for a farm as are the plaster walls inside. A farm should be rustique, renovated indeed but respecting the old nature of it. For a game with such high and very realistic graphics this totally does not fit in the game, in this word. One should have the choice if you want it modern or rustique. (I should move my topic to the 'suggestions' area)
Just enter the building, press TAB, & click on the button in the bottom right.
I got it by pointing to the top right hand corner?
machines from 2010 and a half repaired house in 1930's style won't fit either
There is also options to purchase new furnishing for each room in the house. Note; the option is for the whole room, not individual pieces of furniture.
Also note that the new building materials are cosmetic at this stage of the game's development, & are not required for any of the quests. But these new materials, do allow players to individualize their farm to add their own personal touch to how they want it to look.
And just tearing down a older style home, just so you can have a more modern style is a very expensive proposition, that even in IRL would not considered lightly. But upgrading & maybe adding an addition, is often the route taken for older homes.
