The problem is they basically give you 50k sp at the beginning of the game and hiring workers doesn't actually cost SP , you just need to have that much sitting there. So a new player can just hire a bunch of workers, THEN spend the sp and they're off. It doesn't make sense.
Maybe a simple change such as making the requirement that your player has to gained at least 50k Social Points before any NPC would consider working for them. This would not have the requirement that you actually have the points currently - such as how people are at first 'unsure' of your character, but over time (as you gain Social Points), then they start to trust you.
Then additionally, they could add additional 'levels' such as the next 25 - 50k, they really start to like you. This might then lower the cost that they charge to work for you. Or they could do the job faster or maybe even better quality. So there could be a few 'levels', so that over time the community gets to know you better & like or dislike you, depending on your actions in the game.
I really like that idea. That makes sense that people would want to know who they're working for (sort of).
It just feels like obvious issues weren't thought of before implementing the system. I just hope they're willing to listen to their players.
I hope they add different ways of getting social points. Right now it's an insane grind that isn't fun at all.
GT ... sorry
That would be perfect. As it is, it's strange to have to keep a bank of 50k to be able to hire workers.
Also it's much harder to gain social points than money in this game, so social points are more "valuable" than mone, yet you trade them 1:1 when buying things.
Luckily I was hanging on yo my social points because I expected them to become more useful in the future. So I only had to gain about 8k social points in order to hire workers.
It's not that the npc's hate you when you spend social points.
You do favors for npc's for social points. This is like gaining "good will" with these people. They now are in debt to you and owe you a favor. Once you redeem that favor (often a discount on a purchase) you have to do more favors to build up the good will again. You can't expect to trade on a few good deeds forever. This is an ongoing process.
You trade them 1:1 when you buy things, but you earn them 2:1 when you do favors.
Open the map and click on a field you own. If you have enough social points saved up there will be an option ro hire workers.
Yes, but missions like plowing fields, fixing buildings etc. only give you <=1000 SP. If you spent all your initial SP's for repairing your farm, this means doing at least 50 missions to earn them back.
I'm not sure exactly how long a mission takes, but it's safe to say this is many, many hours of gameplay because the game didn't make it clear in the beginning that SP are very valuable and you should hang on to them. Since you get ~50k SP for initially repairing your farm, new players also get the impression that SP are easy to earn, which is not the case.
Spending them all on fields or new machinery is extremely stupid, since you then can't hire workers and possible other things in the future.
At least with games we can create saves before trying something, & then if doesn't work we can go back & do it the other way. Nothing is perfect, & this or other games would become very boring, very fast if everything was perfect. We play the game... Learn from our choices... go on & try different ways. Wow this is really great!
♥♥♥♥ me, how much do they pay you?
