How To Transport Materials

Hi everyone, just a question, how when you buy materials, how do you transport it back to home base of where ever you want to use them, and about the house at home base, in paticular the roof, because the roof is built with wooden planks, can we buy like the clay tiles and use those on roof of house? roof looks ugly with wooden planks, and can roofs for other buildings be put on? and can walls inside house be painted...etc?

It's another truck that you'll find in one of the 3 stored. It costs 4k eu so it's a bit expensive imho.
I searched for it too. It's blue and has a crain on it.

There is the HDS truck that is located at the southern machinery dealer (southwest of the farm, towards the old mill). It has a crane that is operated by the LMB. You move it over the skid of materials (which then turn green), press ENTER to pick up. To place on truck bed or back on ground, move skid over spot & press ENTER to drop. Crane only moves sideways (no up or down movement).

it has information about building materials, & some of the things you can do.

Note: The skids now have "limited" materials per skid, so they really don't go that far. I usually leave some on the truck to take to a "job site", but otherwise you can use the fast travel system. There is a bus station just outside on the road. Or what I use a lot, is to park a vehicle at the Builders Supply depot, then drive another vehicle to the job site. Then an easy matter to teleport to either vehicle - one to select the material to use - other to at job site.

Fast travel with bus stop dont waste money on the truck i've never used it yet,fixing an npc's barn you dont need a truck for mats lol, another concept that just fizzled out,after having 2 ugly children theres really nothing to do in this game.

Actually there is no quests at this time that require you to upgrade any of the buildings with purchased building materials. This is currently just a cosmetic option at this time in this games development. I am assuming that in the future there will be new quests for such things as putting on a "new" roof, or fix the 'siding' of a building.

hi m8 park yer tractor at the building store then buy a pallet of stuff then click on it on the outside landing then teleport back to yer car then use the stuff its time consming but well worth it

Do I really have to buy the new (expensive) truck if I want building materials? If not, please tell me precise what I have to do, to get my materials home. I have tryed to take the bus, but that does not help. All my materials are still placed at the platform for load at the store.

No you do not have to purchase the HDS truck (with crane) to move building materials, but you will be limited to having to use the bus system or fast travel/teleport system to access those building supplies.

NOTE: Building materials are only cosmetic (see note2 below). They are not required for any of the quests, nor do they improve any of the livestock buildings (although many players have asked that they do that). New building materials are mainly for players to personalize their farms, & fix them up any way they desire.

NOTE2: Solar panels will over time generate some income from the energy they create, & they will also net you some Social points every day (sunny days, that is).

First off you cannot move the building supplies any other way than with the HDS truck. But you can use these building supplies that you purchase. Using the bus system or fast travel, you can go to the Building Supply & purchase your desired materials. Then click on the skid/pallet of materials. This will then "load" those materials into your inventory. Next travel to the work site, & use those materials. You may have to select the proper tool, if you have switched to a different one, between the time you have selected the material to use, & the actual application of that material.

This process has to be repeated for each & every skid/pallet of material that you desire to use. Traveling back & forth between the Building Supplies & the work site.

Hopefully this clarifies the process for you.

Actually I have left one of my two tractors at the store. Now it is even faster than taking the bus the one way. I use teleportsystem both ways now ;-)

This is the reason that many players keep their older - driveable equipment. They can use these for exactly the purpose that you are doing. Preplacing them at locations they desire to fast-travel/teleport to.
