HDS Pickup uses?

Does the HDS Pickup actually have any uses? I thought I read somewhere that you'd be able to get missions to remodel people's properties, but I've not seen where it's actually implemented in the game yet.

The HDS truck (with crane) is used to move the Building Supplies skids around the map. It allows you to pick them up from the loading dock at the Building Supplies store, & then transport them to your farm or other locations. The crane will pick up & set off the skids.

The LMB allows you to 'operate' the crane. Once close enough to the skid, it will turn green - then press "ENTER" to attach/detach the skid.

Here I lined up the supply skids on one side of the cow shed. I dropped the skids on the rightmost side with the HDS truck, then used the old tractor to push the skids into a neat row.

Aside from stating the obvious, you completely ignored my follow up question about enabling repair jobs. Aside from being able to transport materials to your farm, do you get extra missions/jobs that require the truck? IS IT BENEFICIAL TO BUY IT??

I guess my answer didn't exactly tell you that no it was not at this time for other quests. I believe that the Devs do have many other changes planned for the quests in the future, but at this time this is just speculation.

And No there really isn't a real reason to purchase the HDS at this time other than to 'cosmetically' change the building materials (as an easy way to transport them to the farm). There are no current quests (that I have ever seen or heard others of doing), that require the use of Upgrade materials for fixing the buildings. All quests only require you to Repair the structures. There is one exception, in that the condition of the livestock structures does have an impact of the output of the production from the chickens & cows. As per this in-game help texts;

• Remember to fix your cow barn. Your cows will be healthy, happy, and give more milk.
  
• Your hen will give more eggs if they live in a properly fixed henhouse.

And even for these you can use the 'fast-travel' system (bus stops or vehicles), to go back & forth from the Builders Supply to get the materials you want to use.

Currently the skids are priced very low & have unlimited materials. The Devs did this on purpose, so that players could try out the various materials, & see if there are any bugs in the system.

Currently, I'm using the bus stop to travel back and forth between my farm and the building material store. I buy a material and it shows up on the dock. I walk over to the dock and take the material (game limits this to 100 pieces at a time). The pallet of material is still on the dock after I take my 100 pieces. I go to my farm, use all the 100 materiial on my person to upgrade, then I return to the building store to find that the pallete of materails I just pulle from is no longer on the dock. This does not seem intentional that a pallete holds only 100 pieces (then why would I need the HDS truck with crane). I think the pallets on the dock are bugged. How many pieces of materail are supposed to be in each pallet?

At this time, the HDS doesn't have much use other than to transport materials for doing up the farm. Once that's done, it's just sitting around as a waste of money.
