What i ment Mysticmaid, the reviewer was bringing topics to the table wich will only lead to toxic discussions and will soon not even going about the game itself anymore.
But since you find it necessary to attack me about gay merriage and are looking for a fight here you can have it. The designer of merriage is God so good luck with Him in arguing about the things He is doing wrong in your eyes. Tell us afterwards how well it did work out for you!!
As to the marriage aspect of the game, I don't think it is being forced upon the players. Else, I would assume the Dev's would make it 'way' easier to do. And they have already stated that the player themselves will have the ability to make some of the middle-level foods shortly. And I don't think I have heard of anyone starving so far even without being able to cook foods.
And with so many comments about the attractiveness of the ladies in the game, I am thinking a lot of players will likely not bother with the marriage aspects at all.
Just my two cents worth
keep discussion about religion and policy where they belong to.
not in a forum about an early access game.
It's just SJW garbage.
Most of them aren't gamers, but people who didn't know what to do with their gender studies degree.
Did you reply in the same manner to Mysticalmaid?
I fully agree to your point of view 'we could care less about gamereviewing sites' But a fair review is in our best interest because the way economics work.
The developers released the game as early access for 2 economical reasons.
1. Gamedevelopment cost a lot of money wich is a problem for beginning companies. You need to pay a development team for say a year without income.
2. Also to make a game more successfull(think about the modding community of the FS series)
You get the community involved into the development process grow yourself a solid playerbase(economical) and you can get away with a game in a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ kind of state gamewise spoken.
For those players(me included) wich love the initial concept of this game yet fully aware of it's current state. Unfair bad reviews are against our interests not only for the developers. We who like this game want a playerbase as big as possible, so the money keeps flowing in and the developers get a steady cashflow so they can afford it to put more effort in developent.
I am fully aware this is a symplistic overview but it's generally speaking how things work.
The part wich upsets me the most about the review, is that this reviewer in search for ammunition needs to bring gay merriage for example to the table. Yes let's bring the LGBT community in so we can volume the outrage more in favour of the reviewer. This i called toxic reasons wich shouldn't be appear into the review.
And i was totally right Mysticalmaid finds it necessary to call me homophobic, no i am not afraid of the gay community. But i am afraid of discussions wich leads away from the main topic.
Bottomline, conceptwise Farmers Dynasty is a nice and unique game for the genre, and i can only hope for our and the devs sake they are allowed to develop there vision for this game further listening to the community when appropriate. And we all have a heck of a ride in this game.
Going back to the review.. I don't feel it was a fair review at all, it seemed overly harsh, they make comments about how you can't do certain things in it, well you can't do those things in Farming Simulator either, has that reviewer even played a Farming Simulator game? They compared it to Stardew Valley, not really a fair reference, in any case Stardew Valley was based off Harvest Moon which the reviewer doesn't seem to realise.
I think Farming Dynasty is doing it's own thing, it's not The Sims, or Harvest Moon or Stardew Valley, (all of which I've played) it's adding some much needed new gameplay aspects to a Farming Sim genre. I'm curious to see where this game will end up, but I won't be paying any attention to rubbish reviews like that, I'll be watching the Let's Plays of other Farm Sim players, like Daggerwin to form my opinions.
I'd like to have a female main character, I was thrilled when FS17 added a female option, finally I can be female in my games too.
Strange that even games like Harvestmoon can be dragged along.
The game is really more than just interesting, but I don't support that.
The interaction feels overall very generic as with rest NPC on map, the lifecycle as well and dont make sense
So only thing you can put in is own imagination:
"hello Wife you are still picking up nonexisting weed from same spot in front of our house? till late night as every single day?"
"yes Honey I do...":p
It is nowhere near to NPCs like Stardew Valley has for example. (that is nothing superior but at least things have some logic, there is soem relation development and you can recognize one character or personality from others)
I have read that OP review from 2018 and I see and agree with generally all the points of author (and I see nothing like some bs about religion or gay marriages, that is no point at all - though of course it is possible it was edited out in the meantime) - and even though people might wished otherwise back than hoping game will develop form its Early access I see no improvement - It feels like it is stuck in that EA stage and abandoned there. (and it is almost 3 years, nothing so small)
I have just bought FS19 on current sale and so far it seems to be much better game than FD (and what is interesting it seems to use same or very similar assets or controls... like if one game was copied form other) - like yes FD "might" get better, something like more realistic Stardew with machines and adult graphic in believable social community and farmer life, some essence of small town - however it utterly fails at it and NPCs are more pain and generic random map runners than enjoyable experince in some community I could belive in. So after all years later it dont offer more than farming mechanic - that is good in its realism and physics but gameplay ways it is unbalanced and flawed.
I would never say FD is garbage though - even though it fails in what it wants to deliver in my eyes, it is super calming tractor simulator. There is somethign addicting on that as well (confirmed by fact I spent some 120 hours in it already:p
I disagree entirely. There is absolutely no onus on developers/writers/tv shows etc to take anything other than THIER story into account. Farmers dynasty is about a heterosexual male inheriting a small farm and living his life. THATS THE STORY. If you want story about a trisexual gender fluid nonconformist farmer.. WRITE YOUR STORY/GAME/TV SHOW. SJW's need to understand that only a creator gets to dictate the tale not them, and their agendas. Your personal identity has jack to do with the story the game is telling. I didn't play Last of US 2 and get pissed cause I couldn't make her straight, I accepted the story they were telling and went with it... because its their story not mine.
