Keyboard controls HELP
Want to start off saying I really want to love this game. From what I have saw it seems like a game I would love and could pour so much time into. That being said I am having trouble setting up keyboard controls. i have everything mapped EXCEPT walking. forward, left, right, back. If I could get these I could get a feel of the game. I am NOT a big fan of controller. Thanks for any and all helpful replies.

depends on what you are used to.
perhaps put walking/driving on the cursor keys?

I didn't see a "Driving/walk" option in the controls to change. I prefer WASD. You also can't pause the game with keyboard from what I tried. which was ESC.

Any reason for not using the standard WASD keys for the movement? These are basically the de-facto standard for most all games. This leaves your right hand free to use the mouse. Only thing may be an issue is if left-handed, & may want to use right side of keyboard instead (such as Keeru Gaman mentioned above).

Main thing I usually change is I like to have the TAB key for any inventory - sometimes mapped to (i).

Also, I will remap any "drop", or "throw" type key away from the WASD set, jut because it is sometimes easy to miss-strike the wrong key in that area.

In this game I re-mapped the "Operate 1 - Up/Down" key (R) to my Middle mouse button. And the "Operate 3 - Unload" key (V) to the equal key (=). This was done since can lose a lot of commodities real fast if dump or unload by mistake.

Sometimes you have to press the ESC key multiple times to actually bring up the menu. Depends on what was doing previously in game.

The remapping for controls is terrible for this game unless I am blind (and I hope I am in this case) I WANT to use WASD, I do not see a place for walking or driving so I can remap it to WASD. nothing at all is there. For me it has ALL controller controls setup in the config. Totally confuzzled.

Just go to the bottom of the Keyboard controls page (bottom right) there is a Default button. That will revert all to what it sounds like you want.

I did this from the main menu, but can access it in-game also.

Note: there are some keys that do not show on this listing. Such as the ESC key to pause, bring up main menu (save, quit, etc..). Also, there are some Function keys supported. F1 for repairs, F2 for rebuilding, & F3 for scaffolding - all which items which can be accessed also thru the TAB key.

Also forgot that the left Shift key add sprint, but is not show in this "controls listing"

PS. This listing shows some of the keys I remapped (as stated in previous posting). Default will revert them to their originals.

I wonder too, if you have to unplug any controller you may have to get the keys to revert to the keyboard?? I think I heard someone else having something like this issue in the past. Else, hopefully can just use Default setting or map to this patttern. Note again my MMB (middile mouse button was originally R, & = (equal) was originally V.
Hope this helps!

Thanks so much friend... I figured out what the issue was. I have a controller plugged in all the time, in case I'm going to play a game that is preferred with controller. So I decided to unplug the controller.. and my golly the controls are normal and are working fine for keyboard now. I thank you for taking the time to help. Really appreciated!
