Still very much early access, & some things not fully implemented or not yet added to game. But Dev's are very active, & appear very willing to consider changes that players have posted in forums. They also have a "Roadmap for Development" forum, that they post planned updates; http://steamcommunity.com/app/678900/discussions/0/2549465882932039182/
Overall, I find the game to be relaxing & not 'overpressured' to get things done. Most items you can choose which you want to do, when you want to do them. Very much an open world, with a bunch of possiblities to 'write your own story' as you go.
so, coming from Harvest Moon* or Stardew Valley, you should expect the difference that it is a 3D world with first person / third person view, and you have to do much more driving vehicles to get across the map or do the field jobs. all the farming sims aspects, so to say.
and it is in no way any manga or RPG style regarding design / art style, in opposite to HM/SV.
*) I only know the PS1 version from playing and have seen the Nintendo version once.
