Then I just methodically bought the cheapest upgrades among the gold tab, perk tab, time cube chance, time cube drop, boss timer, drone and turret dps/critical chance/critical damage.
I'm currently at 200k time cubes, there's probably a more optimal way, but so far it's served me well.
Can do a few exceptions here and there (like prioritizing landing on a starting level for weapons with 4 perks, getting parck stacing as much as possible, and so on), but the general idea is solid.
Exactly, that's what I do, drone start level 39 means drone lvl 1500, and turret start level 36 means level 1400, after that you have to get them above level 1900 in order to have 4 perks again and that's pricey (turret sadly doesn't have a start level at 1500 through research) :p
Otherwise, it'd depend on wheter people passing by also have to face the same number of waves as you do (which always happen on later levels, mind you), but also rely on your Hoverbike Speed research to keep up...
...even though you can manually be carried zone by zone, by walking towards the end of the current zone, hitting TAB to be invulnerable, and as soon as the zone is complete, you can proceed to the next quickly and repeat that. I did that a little when I first joined multiplayer and had a really slow bike.
