The point is... There are people who speak Japanese and Chinese. They may enjoy the game. Steam is not English only.

my concern is about that publishers take easy lazy way/path and ditching english translations

It's a huge workload to translate the entire series into English and I'm afraid no one want to pay for that. Keep in mind that the original producer KID bankrupted in 2006, even before I was born. Chinese volunteers finished their great jobs 20+ years ago so we have free-riding privilege.

Chances of Memories Off ever seeing an official release in English are low. There are 8 (soon 9) in total main line titles that are not translated (be it fan or official) and for the series that barely has any presence outside Japan, China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, it simply isn't worth the effort because they'd never make any profit. You'll see sooner Infinity series (another series developed by KID) on Steam in English than Memories Off. MAGES./5pb., the current rights owner of all KID IPs, is remaking/porting over infinity to modern platforms.

And, just like pointed out, Steam releases of MemOff aren't for English speaking users but rather for the Chinese market which is y'know quite big on Steam thanks to it being unbanned in mainland China.

I wish if they also will translate and port "12riven", "DUNAMIS15" and "DISORDER6" someday

Anime art are ageless.

It is worth effort in long time period (just like sony reselling their exlusive games at PC platform). It is long time investment.
There are 8 billions people on Earth and steam allow you to sell your game all over the world.

I understand it's a risky move try to translate all the games, but I'd like they could try to translate the first game at least, which is known because Uchikoshi wrote this game.

If they try to translate the first game and see it's succesfull, they could go for next games in the series and so on. I still hoping to be able to read Memories Off someday...

We didnt get the other memories off translated my guess (I hope im wrong) is that this will never get an oficial translation.
Hareyuk Jan 31, 2024 @ 1:39pm
Yeah, altrough it would make sense if they decided to translate the latest game, or something, because the Memories Off series aren't related between each other, I think.

Still, not losing my hopes to see the first game translated! (The anime does not make justice to the game TwT)

I think you're both massively underestimating the sheer amount of text to translate and the effort, time and money doing so would necessitate, and massively overestimating the sales potential of the series were it brought to English speakers that can't also read either Japanese or Chinese.

All this time and not even a fan English patch?
ingueferroque Mar 9, 2024 @ 1:30pm
Decided to grab the bundle anyway to support, hopefully we'll get an English translation or patch at some point.

You think these countries did not exist 20 years ago and now Japan and China need abandoned releases on steam?
