Mud Runner not launching

[insert basic name]

I just got a new laptop, a lenovo thinkpad, nothing special. When I downloaded mudrunner on it, I hit play and it says launching for a few seconds, then just goes back to play. I've verified the integrity of the game files, uninstalled all mods, and I don't have any anti-virus vpn or anything that would conflict with steam. I've had this problem on a past, much worse computer than what I have now and I was able to solve it with a simple re-install of the game.

just had this problem too. wont launch no matter what. uninstalled, reinstalled. Then, unsubscribed from all mods, and went back to the empty install folder to find unknown files like a .dll and even another executable. likely from a workshop mod. you know, the kind that requires you to go to another website and download other files/ applications... Anyways i deleted the remaining files and reinstalled. Problem solved. now i can kick mud!
