List of common problems and its solutions
This material was prepared on the basis of solved problems at the Technical Support Forum.

If you have any problems, first of all make sure that the indicated points are suitable for you:
  • Your PC meets the game requirements.
  • Your video and DirectX drivers is up to date.
  • You do not use third-party programs or mods. For example: ReShade, SweetFX or SpintiresMod
  • You did not make any changes to the game files.
  • You did check game files in game properties in Steam Library.
  • You have already tried to make a clean installation of the game, but it did not help.

If the above comes to you, but does not help, try the following options:
:MUDahead: Problem: At game startup the error "MSVCP110.dll" or "Microsoft visual c++ runtime library error" appears.
Possible reason: broken VC++ libraries
Solution: Complete this step-by-step:
1. Run Steam and click LIBRARY.
2. Right click on 'Spintires: MudRunner' and click 'Properties'.
3. Click the tab 'LOCAL FILES' then click the button 'BROWSE LOCAL FILES...'.
4. Open the folder '_CommonRedist' then the folder 'vcredist' and the folder '2010'.
5. Run the application 'vc_redist.x64' (vc_redist.x64.exe) and click the button 'Install' or 'Repair'.
6. Run the application 'vc_redist.x86' (vc_redist.x86.exe) and click the button 'Install' or 'Repair'.
7. Go back to the folder 'vcredist' and open the folder '2012'.
8. Run the application 'vc_redist.x64' (vc_redist.x64.exe) and click the button 'Install' or 'Repair'.
9. Run the application 'vc_redist.x86' (vc_redist.x86.exe) and click the button 'Install' or 'Repair'.

:MUDahead: Problem: The game starts very long
Possible reason: you are subscribed to too many mods in the workshop
Solution: More mods - more time to synch it at startup.
Unsubscribe from some mods. Add them to your favorites or use collections to not lose the ones you like.

:MUDahead: Problem: At game startup you get "Sorry, Mudrunner crashed. Please relaunch the game"
Possible reason: The problem may be caused by programs for tweaking / overclocking, for example: RivaTuner™ or ASUS GPU Tweak II™
Solution:Try to disable this program or uninstall it.

:MUDahead: Problem: The game crashes when launched in fullscreen mode or does not allow to set it up.
Possible reason: For Windows 10 Build 1709 (but not limited it)
Solution: For MudRunner.exe check Compability option 'Disable Fullscreen Optimisations', press OK. Start the game fullscreen at any resolution you want.

:MUDahead: Problem: Black screen at Startup
Possible reason: For PC\Notebook with dual video cards
Solution: Check that the game has started on a discrete (not integrated into the CPU) video card

1. Run Steam and click LIBRARY.
2. Right click on MudRunner > Properties.
3. Click the LOCAL FILES tab then on the BROWSE LOCAL FILES button.
4. Copy the Config.xml and the ShaderCache.sdc files.
5. Open Windows Explorer or File Explorer from the taskbar.
6. Open Local Disk (C:).
7. Open Users folder then your Windows User Account folder.
8. Navigate to AppData (*) > Roaming > SpinTires MudRunner.
9. Paste and replace the Config.xml and the ShaderCache.sdc files.
10. Run MudRunner.

(*) The AppData folder is a hidden folder by default. To view this folder:

WINDOWS 7
- Open Windows Explorer from the taskbar.
- Click Organize > Folder and search options.
- Click the tab View and check Show hidden files, folders and drives under Hidden files and folders from Advanced Settings.
- Click OK.

WINDOWS 8/10

- Click the tab View and check Hidden items.

Your PC is a little bit too old for this game...

It seems like all new mods since June, 30, 2020 do not work in multiplayer

I had an issue with vc redist. When I went to the mudrunner directory and looked for the vcredist folder it wasn't there, and hadn't been through the 5 or so reinstalls I had done prior to that. I got past this by using redists from other games, like the sims 4. I'm just wondering what could have caused it to not download the vcredist folder?

Can you fix the following problems with MudRunner?
Problem: Opening the map automatically applies the parking brake. This prevents you from doing quick map checks and maintaining any sort of speed.

Solution: LET ME TEXT AND DRIVE! If I want the brake on, I'll press the button myself, thanks. I'm pretty sure Russian trucks don't have auto-brakes, and having such a thing is utterly counter-productive, given that these trucks move at the speed of smell to begin with.

Problem: Delivering logs, and also closing the ADVANCED MENU for ANY reason, including releasing the winch forces the camera to zoom back in. WHY?? We struggled enough with the camera from SpinTires, and now again?!

Solution: LEAVE THE CAMERA WHERE I PUT IT! Stop moving the camera based on unrelated actions.
Nobody likes the camera shoved up their tailpipe because you can't see much this way.

Problem: When you winch/tow another vehicle, that vehicle's engine starts automatically, possibly burning more fuel, even before you get the chance to switch to PULL mode.

Solution: Set the default to PULL, THEN start the engine IF it's changed to DRIVE mode, ~OR~ simply wait until the player's accelerator is touched and in DRIVE MODE before starting the to-be-towed vehicle's engine, since there's no need to start it if the vehicle is going to be PULLED.
