I cannot do anything in the menu. The game is completely unplayable with this bug.
It should be fixed as soon as possible.
Some additional info:
I think, it is because, wheel or joystick have a non constant values of axis, even when user doesn't touch those devices. The game detects this axis velue changes, and assumes that user wants to use wheel / joystick, not mouse, as a current controller in a main menu.
however..
I did notice that if in the menus and I turn the wheel even slightly the mouse will snap to the middle of the screen, but as long as I'm not turning the wheel in the menus there is no problem for me.
I tried various things in hopes I can re-produce what is happening to others to find a fix but nothing is causing it to go hay-wire for me:
Tried (with & without) an X-box controller plugged in.
Tried un-ticking Primary on the wheel.
I think, the bug only occurs when the axis values are not very stable (when wheel or joystick is not moving). It can be caused by old potentiometers or other position sensors. Steering wheels with opical sensors are less prone for this issue.
However, this bug is related to a generic game controller, not a specyfic one.
I think only developers can fix it by the change (or add) of some threshold for input when control is switched form mouse to controller.
My PS4 controller has some jiggle and that may have been the issue.
