EGS/Steam cross-play issues.

hello! i recently got mud-runner and want to play it with a friend that has it on epic games store, i heard that you can cross-play between them and i followed most of the steps but i'm stuck on getting my steam and epic games friends linked?? where it says "connect your social account to find friends" it just shows steam but i cant click it. everything says to sign into steam and then relaunch epic which i have done a variety of times and i signed into the website and in the steam launcher.

More likely 'cause both you and your friends must have the linked epic and steam option to work

When joining the multiplayer menu, you’ll be asked if you want to enable crossplay.
If you don’t accept, you can only play with other Steam players that haven’t enabled crossplay.
If you accept, a web page will open in your browser asking you to log in to (or create) an EGS account.

Yea but what to do when my friend accidentaly clicked on deny? Can he enable it back again?

This is not a direct answer to your request, but this information may save you some time and nerves...

From what I understand, the crossplay feature has been poorly implemented. An activated Crossplay option might cause problems.
If you encounter problems with MudRunner's Crossplay feature, please check out this discussion (and referred topics).

MudRunner heavily relies on Steam features and without having the crossplay option activated multiplayer is running smoothly in general. The Epic Games Store version unfortunately doesn't even offer multiplayer saves... even on Steam, a public session can't be continued except with Steam friends.

If possible, better leave the crossplay feature out and only use the Steam version of the game for everyone. 3 of 4 DLCs can be downloaded already for free. For the base game and 'American Wilds' DLC, I suggest waiting for a sale (happens regularly several times a year). Also you should check then, buying the 'American Wilds Edition' would give you even more discount than simply choosing the DLC separately (this might be a Steam bundle discount). Content of base game + 'American Wilds' DLC compared to the 'American Wilds Edition' is the same.
