Using controllers

Hi, this would be my first game where I'd want to use controllers. What sort of things can I do with an xbox controller and are there any types I must avoid?

All the pc steering wheels I've looked at seem designed for racing type games. Will they be too sensitive for this game?

Logitech Gamepad F310 works well, although it is a PS3-style controller.

X-Box controller is perfect for the game well optimised.

i have a wheel and i still prefer a controller with this game.
i agree xbox or steam controllers are perfect for this game.

I use a logitech g27 wheel or an xbox one controller. Both work great for the game!

Racing weels are just normal weels ^^ they look fanzy but thats all they do. (you can change the senistivity via program)

On a controller you have more control over the gas, on Keyboard you have to fiddel it out via gear.
(I have a PS controller and Scarlet.Crush to make windows belive its a xbox controller but still playing with mouse and keyboard)
