Why? My Gripe Loading Logs
3rd time this has happened to me and no offense but i'm getting real tired of it.

I take a truck that has long load (6pts) to get to Logs whatever, I position my truck and load up and I get 2; two single logs!!! that's it! two.

First time ever with just 2 logs I chose to drive to the drop off point only for it to tell me that I have nothing there; no logs on truck.

Another time I had 2 logs I dropped the trailer and drove my truck back to garage and installed the long hitch and drove back only to see my previous trailer with 2 logs are still sitting there; so I had to take another truck and push it out of the way.

This map I am on has been a nightmare LOL and ironically its only the 2nd map. I'm a newbie to the series. Put 7hrs into this game I am loving it but it ticks me off sometimes that this happens.

Why does this happen? Especially since this game has been released what 2yrs + ago.

Id rather the game tell me to continue to reposition my trailer because once those 2 single logs are loaded I believe only course of action is to recover to garage and try it again.

So this map, 2nd map. All I can say is that the first time I went to log pick up joint I had a heck of a time positioning my trailer. After 3-6 attempts I gave up. So now i'm at a different log pick up place, very hard to navigate and very hard to turn around in and finally when I did I get 2 logs LOL And that has been 4 times already. I haven't even picked up a stack of logs yet :(

Are you "packing" the logs? Once you have the correct amount of logs on the trailer, you have to go in the advanced menu by pressing the "v" key, then you will see green or red dots on the logs. You have to correctly place the truck and trailer so that all logs have green dots, then click on one of the dots to pack the logs, giving you a full load.

As for the trailer placement, with the long log trailer, you can load the trailer on the back of the truck, again from the advanced menu. Once the truck is correctly placed, you can put the trailer back on the ground and use the winch to stretch it back.

So im using just mouse and keyboard once my truck is in full position, i can notice by the Loading Log Menu box that appears, all i do is "double click" (far right box that says 6pts)

thats all ive done. double click. usually a large load will give me a ton of logs but as ive said, occasionally when i click it...i get just 2 dang logs. two! lol and double clicking aftetwards does nothing

Sorry if my previous answer was confusing, I mistakenly though that you were playing in hardcore mode, which requires the player to load the logs manually with a crane.

If I'm not mistaken, you only need 2 long logs to "fill" the truck once it is packed, in normal mode the packing is done automatically (packing means converting the few logs on the truck into the full load), but it seems that in your case it doesn't happen. So when you have loose logs, make sure the truck's engine is running, then press "v" on the keyboard, which will bring you the advanced menu, and you should see green dots on the logs. If you hover the mouse on one of them you should see a green cube and the words "Ready to pack!", just click and the truck should be fully loaded.

"ready to pack" whoa never seen that before. when i play the game next ill mention what i do. thank you

I see the game is random LOL. Started new map (but started prev) didnt see my truck i used before. Unlocked all waypoints and unlocked all vehicles not one gave me option to do long logs

But i saw Proving Grounds allow spawning, testing

Lets say Im at log station with LongLogs attached (trailer) I pull in and a box appears . It says "Choose load for truck": Short, Medium, Long (Long = 6pts)

So as i highlight it tells me to reposition, when it doesnt say position thats when i double click.

LongLogs loads up all backend but sometimes only a mere 2 comes out

You can reconfigure the trucks at any unlocked garage, although not all trucks can equip the long log modules.

When you face the situation that gives you only two logs, try doing as I said earlier which is going in the advanced menu ("v" on the keyboard) and then clicking the green dots, that should solve your problem.

When you drop the logs in your trailer etc. Put your mouse or cursor over the logs you've dropped and if it's ready to be 'packed' they will all be Green (dots) with a uniform outline box. Click on the logs!
If one or two are not correct they will be red (dot) on bad positioned logs and Green (dots) on correctly positioned logs. You need a minimum of 4 logs in normal mode to pack. Use the crane to correctly align the bad logs next to good. That's it and you're loaded to travel to lumber yard!

If the trailer is incorrectly positioned, it just means it's not *straight* to load logs. Use the winch to the rear of the trailer and pull it either way to straighten the trailer.

Click continue at the bottom of the map or click the middle of the map to choose other maps to play. Each will have a save icon at the corner showing the ones you've played

I started over on a map but had a heck of a time figuring out why i couldnt attach a long log cart thing

Again im new to series. I also didnt know maps are auto generated. 1st map i really ran into an "already made and ready truck" to haul long logs

When i started 2nd map having a nightmare then moments before this post I again saw an already ready truck to haul long logs

So when i finally get to that point before loading I will examine everything and will post.

Maybe later tonight we will see.

i never played all the challenges so after 9hrs of gameplay i just figured out how to unlock more garages lol

Thank you all for the tips. I will be back to post

It's actually easier with an XBox controller as it more intuitive. Prompts onscreen tell you what to do. Attaching trailers is Advanced mode - D-Pad right or left until it highlights the black dot near the tow bar. It will say something like "too far" with a growing point from it, again explanatory either move the truck forward or backwards to get it under the bar then select it again D-Pad and attach it. Releasing is from, i use cab view, advanced mode. Just don't drop logs!

Okay nothing you said happens in my game.

Single Player, Map "Mount Logmore" Game Balance is 3 of 5 stars. (Casual)

I took my Chevrolet Bison...hitch + long log cart; pulled up at the Log Station next to my Garage. Positioned myself correctly. Menu appeared. If I select V (Advanced ) then Winch options are there nothing else. The Log menu......if you take a hard look at the icon box....Small Logs shows roughly 6 small logs. Medium Log Count well 6 but medium size i guess lol Long still shows a 6 count long logs but once I double clicked it and it loaded my trailer then...theres actually 18 long longs on my truck.

Thankfully 2 didnt drop this time.

Once all 18 logs plopped in, I did as you all suggested.....Highlight the logs; I do not see any icons, color dots, nothing. And if I hit V all I see is Winch options.

However re-reading this thread it was told to me to Hit V (Advanced) when only 2 logs drop (instead of my 18 count) when that happens; as I just am loading up 1st time (for map) I will attempt and report back.

Getting ~18 logs is the normal behavior, the solution with the green dots that me and zoo talked about will only be needed if you get two logs.

If you want to try, when you have a normal full load (18 logs), go in the V menu then you should see a new option called "Drop load", clicking it would revert your load to its actual two long logs, then you will be able to see the green dots. (it can be easily tested in the proving grounds map)

Thanks again. I will most definitely hit V when just 2 logs drop and see

Thanks for bringing this up, I looked for something similar in the Mudrunner guides but couldn't find any, and for some reason I totally forget to look in the Spintires guide list...

It finally happened lol. I restarted Map 1 all over doing a lot before i ever chose to load logs. 7hrs into Map 1. I had some fun seeing the potential of this game (which I love BTW)

I take my log truck, position what I can, double click Log Icon (for 6pts) but only 2 logs dropped. Then following everyones tutorial...well it didnt fully work as planned but i got it.

2 Logs dropped so I pressed V. I saw the Green Icons you were referring to. When I highlighted a green dot then I saw 2 Large Green Boxes appear on my "Trailer" and it said Ready to Pack. I clicked it but only 2 logs dropped again. I clicked other green dot; same thing. I thought maybe I need to drag dot; nope same thing.

Then I re-read 1st reply "Position Truck and Trailer, then press it" So I pulled forward just a tad saw the Log Icon Box appear; decided to re click the Long Log (6pts) and

Voila! Full Truck of Logs. At any rate you guys helped me immensely and I thank you all for that. :)

PS. Im still desperate for Snow Runner LOL
