Loading map into editor?
Hey all, I recently had to reinstall my editor. I saved everything I could find for a map I have been working on before doing so. I am having one hellofatime figuring out how to open the map in the editor again. Ive placed the files in every folder and configuration possible. Ive got roughly 30 hours of building and testing on this map. Id really hate to start over. Can anyone help me out here? What do I need to do to make it work?

if you didn't save the 2 files in the prebuilt folder your map is gone it will be a folder with ( level_you maps name ) and ( level_your maps name.xml ) if you still have a good restore point saved on you pc that might get your map back if you had the editor installed on your C drive

you only need the xml. the rest of the files can be brought back from %appdata%\SpinTiresEditor (unless you've emptied it)
or you can try to "rebuild" them with "level tools" (in SpintersMod) or similar using the stg.

I have the XML, DDS, STG and BAK. For whatever reason it will not open the map. When I click on it in the editor, it opens my web browser and shows me the height map details.

you could if you trust someone not to still you map you could put the files on google drive and let someone look at the map and see if maybe it's something your PC is having a conflict with

Why the heck would the editor open the web browser?

Mind showing the first few lines of the XML here?

When you say you have the DDS, i assume you mean the DDS and STG in media\levels? and not the one(s) in Prebuild? (to find those if you dont have them (and the TGA) in Prebuild is to look in %appdata%\SpinTiresEditor\NameOfTheMap_autobackup

I wont tell you im the most expierienced guy on here. But, when I open the XML file this is what pops up, in my web browser.

"<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

-<TerrainMod>

<MaxHeight>64</MaxHeight>

</TerrainMod>"

I saved EVERYTHING that was related to this particular map. It definitely wasnt one I wanted to let go of.

it might be something your pc is doing to cause the error do you have another pc to install the editor on and see if it works on it
go to C:\Users\owner\AppData\Roaming\SpinTires MudRunner Editor\Log.txt and copy and past whats in there in a reply

You can safely remove trhe first line.
also the "-" in front of <TerrainMod>

Why is it TerrainMod btw? Is that new for the latest version?

<Terrain NumBlocksX="xx" NumBlocksZ="yy" Mutator=""> This is how all the maps in my "Prebuild" folder starts.
Im using previous versions of game / editor: ver_10_01_29b
