Game Crashes With HDMI Cable
I have been having an annoying issue for a few weeks now that I just confirmed. I can run the game every single time on my laptop with absolutely no issues. If I plug in an hdmi cable so I can play the game through my smart tv while the game is already running, the game will play with video on the tv, but the sound only comes from my laptop speakers.

If I close the game, plug in an hdmi cable, then go to start Mudrunners, the game will open for a split second, then take me back to the desktop and give me an endless spinning loading circle in place of my mouse. I cannot press anything on my computer with the mouse. The only way to regain control of my computer is to hard restart it with the power button. Any suggestions? Or is this just a spintires issue.

Generally you dont want to switch screens mid game. And this goes for many games.

I m almost doing the same thing but cloning screens and having zero problems.

I use a laptop hooked to my TV as well...i get the same results with sound...but not the crashing issue...for sound i have a wire i run from my headphone jack that switches to a red and white rca jacks and gets plugged into my surround sound....FYI..American truck sim gives me this same sound headache...dunno why sound doesnt carry through HDMI in these 2 games

The sound issue will almost always happen when you switch devices while a program is running. Go into your sound device settings and change it to hdmi. It may not play sound to the hdmi because you've done so with the game running but it's worth trying. If this doesn't work try running sound to speakers or a headset before plugging in the hdmi. It is best not to run a second screen while your pc is running or at least not while games are running. Shut down, plug in hdmi, restart.

As for your other issue there is something else going on. Either your pc is not setup correctly for the second screen and is confused as to what it should do when you launch the game or the game is launching with settings that are not compatible with the second screen.

If you are duplicating your main screen to the second screen then double check the game settings and make sure it's launching in the correct resolution for your second screen.

If you are trying to run dual screens (something different on each screen) check your graphics card to be sure it can handle doing so. Make sure the game is launching in windowed so you can move it to the second screen. Worse comes to worse stop running dual screen and duplicate instead. Go from there.
