Navigate and point to your level folder in the old spintires directory.
A new level appear. I.E. level_log_seeker_imported2016.xml
Open it and click yes to create terrain.
Now this is where it will get interesting. The editor will complain about not loading meshes, xml files etc. This is normal as some assets have been renamed or deleted.
Hold down the Enter key to until the level loads and
SAVE right away.
From now on until you clean up the level.xml with Notepad++ you will contantly be nagged about missing files.
Make a copy of the level.xml file just incase you mess up.
Now to Rename assets in notepad. Locators and Models.
These need changing as do many others
Truck names have changed too.
house = house_a or house_b
vagon = vagon_a or b
vagon_closed = vagon_a or b
objective = lumber_mill
You get the idea, long and tedious but if your patient you will have your level loaded.
Distributions may need remaking and painting....
Edit
Right now I have an overlay that is crashing the editor with an int 71. I fixed by cutting or removing all the map overlays in notepad and pasting them back in one at a time and doing a rebuild each time. Found the road that was the cause.
Thanks for this information dude!
There's already people playing converted maps in multiplayer but i couldn't find good info about the converting process.
I already deleted everything (whole game(s), editor(s)) because everything got messed up with lots of errors etc.
But i do have backups of my original Spintires media.zip and Editor folder so with this info i think i'm gonna give it another try.
The distributions thing is still not clear to me though, i don't understand.
Do you mean that after you did everything which you explained in your message, that you can then continue working on you Spintires map (old game) in the Mudrunner Editor (without getting errors) but everything that you had made with the distributions tool will be lost/gone?
Plants/trees etc. that you've put in by hand (like one at a time, on specific places) will still be there?
I used a lot of distributions in my w.i.p., so that would really suck.
And about the renaming files thing: what do you have to do/how to do this specifically?
For example with converting .jpg to .tga files.
Thanks again dude
