ok i got it to work crudely, you have to use TIRMouse program that came with the trackir software, its located in your trackir install folder, should lookd something like this
C:\Program Files (x86)\NaturalPoint\TrackIR5.
click on TIRMouse (make sure to run as administrator) what this program does is it moves your mouse pointer with your track ir, then go run your game.

It is possible to use TrackIR in game but it's not natively supported. Here's how I use TrackIR along with a thrustmaster ts500 wheel/pedals: Outside the game start trackir as normal and center it. Then load tirmouse which is the trackir mouse emulation. In game, I click the left mouse button once to put the camera in mouse move mode and then i can move the camera with my head via trackir. It's not as good as native, I often have to use the dpad control on my wheel to center my view but it is significantly better than having no trackir and makes a big difference in terms of immersion and control. I have mapped cockpit/external views to buttons on the wheel so when I want an external view so I can see more of what's going on or look around for reversing, then I still can use the trackir in external view to move the mouse. I hope that helps! p.s. I know the last poster also wrote this but I wanted to add another comment to hammer home how you can have great fun with this game and trackir.
