Question about pulling another truck.
Im trying to pull another truck to another location so i dont need to do the drive over and over...
in old spintires i could attach a wench and drive, and the truck would follow,.
In this i need to hold the wench button for the truck im towing to go forward...
is there no auto drive now?

There is. It's the same system as it was in Oldtires. Just make sure to pick "drive" mode for winch in advanced options (there are two modes - drive and pull).

There's also a button for the acceleration of the winched truck. It's the "Y" button for X360 controller (not sure what's the kb equivalent).

I've done a fair amount of experimenting, and at least for me they have changed the winching system, without holding the winch button the truck being pulled will just freewheel, holding the button causes the truck to accelerate. I actually like this a hell of a lot better than the old system, makes it a lot easier to reverse to get some slack and jerk a stuck truck out, as well as let the truck being pulled to push the front truck if needed. I do miss the manual steering options, though, that was sometimes nice for righting a flipped truck, esp. in hardcore mode where the wheels will follow hills. Overall I think it's an improvement though

There was an additional option called "auto" in old spintires - looks like this one is gone and you have to hold the "winch" button to accelerate the other truck like you said.

I don´t like this now either...because you now pretty much have to hold an additional button all the way while driving

From my playthrough of The Bog yesterday, i had another truck in tow the whole time, delivering second load of medium logs. The second truck did follow powering itself, but i think it now follows your movement better than before. It was slightly dragging behind at times though. Only when it started to get stuck i had to keep the winch/throttle button pressed down. Or when i was getting stuck myself, i used it to push me.

Edit: i was driving on 1 gear in slowest crawl mode pretty much the whole time (hardcore difficulty)

When i was trying it by myself, i really struggled to drive with two trucks - the first truck had to pull the second very, very hard. When holding the "winch" button both trucks were driving trough the mud and hills much much better and easier. Of course i was using the drive-"winch" mode...

ya looks like its changed, its to hard to tow another truck around now.... hope it gets changed back to the old system.

The truck behind definitely tries to drive itself, make sure you set the winch mode to "drive" instead of pull. You can hold the "accellerate" button if you wish, but unless you're stuck it's unnecessary, and burns a ton of fuel. HINT: Spinning the wheels in mud does not push you fowards, it only digs you deeper. If you can't modulate the throttle, you can leave the gearstick anywhere between neutral and fully engaged in a gear to achieve a much lower throttle application on KB + Mouse.

if you don't believe me, run a truck down to very little fuel, then tow it with another truck. Once the following truck runs out of fuel and no longer has drive you will notice a huge pull on the cable, and getting around will become much harder now you're pulling dead weight.

in my opinion it (now) feels more like the pulled truck is in neutral than in first gear. Without holding the "winch" button (in drive mode) i can´t even go anyway fast on straights, not to mention muddy parts

In the old spintires a barely used the accelerate-button when towing. Only in very bad conditions.

Agree.., towing seems harder now.

For all I know from my extensive use of "train" convoy's in Oldtiers that it feels the same.

Only little nitpick I have is the new button layout on X360 controller. Winch was on the left shoulder in Oldtires, now it's on the Y button which makes it a bit more clunky to control the throttle of the truck in the back.
