What I do is I make a wide U turn at the mill. Then I start to drive slowly forward and occasionally checking if my trailer sits properly.
Also, all of your little dots on logs need to be green for you to be able to pack the load (in advanced mode).
Another little veteran advice - if you're having trouble lining your trailer properly and/or find yourself in a pickle - attach the winch to back of your trailer to a nearby tree and use it to straighten it up. You can even attach it to a tree then slowly drive forward. This is very usefull if you're hauling the long log cart. Those ones know to be pain to position.
and now imagine logs on a straight trailer....enough said.
I was aware that the trailer needs to be straight when you want to pick up the long logs (of course, otherwise they don´t fit), but somehow I forgot that you also need to have your trailer straight and level when you pick up short logs.
The winch trick is gold!
That's because it's common sense. Can't load straight logs on a crooked rig.
