Memory Errors/Performance Issues Potential Fix(s)
If you are experiencing performance issues or Memory Errors it's possible that your computer is defaulting the game to an integrated graphics processor. This issue has been reported more commonly on laptops.

Please let me know if the solutions below have helped solve any issues you're experiencing.

Nvidia Graphics Card Solution
Follow these steps

  1. Right click on the desktop and select NVIDIA control panel.
  2. Select Manage 3D settings.
  3. Select Program Settings
  4. Select or Add "GotFL.exe" under "Select a program to customize:"
  5. Change the drop down to "High-performance Nvidia processor" under "Select the preferred graphics processor for this program:"
  6. Click Apply to save your changes.

The Control Panel settings should looks something like this at the end.[i.imgur.com]

(Note: "GotFL.exe" is located in
"\Steam\steamapps\common\Gods of the Fallen Land")

EDIT:
Concerning other Graphics Cards

I initially thought this issue only occurred on Nvidia cards, but a few people have reported it on other cards. Please look for similar settings in your own graphics card control panel if you're experiencing these issues, or consult the responses to this thread. Also make sure your graphics card drivers are up to date.

If none of the solutions present in this thread fix the issue for you I would really appreciate it if you could post some information about your own computer such as the Memory, Graphics Card, and OS.

I'm deeply sorry for any inconvenience these issues have caused you.

and i got the game working. looking forward to wooping on this.....ASAP.
in the intel settings i changed the global settings to optimal, and the two aliasing options turned off.

Um, how I got mine to work was to go to options.ini and set the Vertex Buffer Method to 2. That seemed to work for some reason

Hi! Just bought this and started playing, but I am having a little bit of an issue. The screen keeps freezing. I can hear the sounds of my settlers working, but I cant see anything going on. If I pull up and exit the menu, I can see but things barely move. It's like the worst case of lag you have ever seen. I'll admit, I'm not too computer savvy, so I'm not sure what I should change here.
I am using a dell laptop, Intel core i7. 8GB of RAM and a Intel HD Graphics 4400.

did all that. not a single change. shame, game looks proper fun, but seeing as this thread is over a year old and the devs haven't put the effort and time in to fix this/ it's still happening this game isn't going anywhere. big let down.
