I wouldn't say it's useless since pretty much every other similar game has this option.
Would just be nice to have an official "the match is over, the winner is X", especially for Online, instead of having to leave or kick everyone and then match back up everytime.
A) Doesn’t make it a good option to have in a game and
B) Doesn’t mean this game should have it.
It's true the game wasn't designed around this idea, but it wouldn't be difficult to add this option and it doesn't make it "worse" in any way, let endless be default and people can choose whichever mode they prefer.
"Sending to lobby" would be everyone going back to the same lobby, to easily and quickly start of a new round.
At least, that's how I imagine it.
Basically a mini-tournament system. Or even go beyond and have a bracket system for local tournaments.
TALKING in PvP games is nuts, you shouldn't have to as it'd interuppt the fight and make someone lose.
And it doesn't give any real sense of "victory" if you just quit mid game imo.
There's a reason why games like Smash, Duck Game, Towerfall etc have these kinds of limiters and why it works so well.
My typical LOCAL Stickfight game usually starts off great and everyone slowly loses interest when the score is 89 - 42- 10 - 2.
The longer you play, the less chance the less skilled players will have to ever "win". Meanwhile, in a best of 5 or similar, there is always a chance. We are currently playing Smash in the office on lunch breaks, ever so often, one of the less skilled people will win a game, because there is a 3 stock limit, and it does make the game more enjoyable and exciting.
