I'm pretty sure that with blocking, you just have to block at the right moment (which takes practice). I personally haven't put a lot of time into getting used to blocking, even though I know it would definitely help, because there aren't a lot of people really using the blocking.

Punching on the other hand should be pretty straightforward. What don't you understand about it?

range, speed, frequence, damage, timing, area of effect, what happens if you punch someone who punches you at the same time.

Blocking, I'm not entirely sure. If you block bullets, they seem to be reflected back - If they hit the person that attacked, it can sometimes kill them (such as shotgun) or make them drop the weapon (relatively common).
Punching, it kinda propells you in the direction you attack - it's very good to use punching as a movement technique =P
If you hit someone that's punching at the same time, nothing happens. It just makes a little white circle (I think) and doesn't hurt either player.
Everything else, you should be able to figure out by testing on your own in the menu, if not, ask! :D

Blocking will block any incoming attacks (except lasers, spikes, lava, and other environmental stuff) for the split second that it is white. Therefore, always tap block, never hold it. Blocking a punch will make the attacker unable to punch for a few seconds, leaving them open to attack. Blocking a bullet deflects it in the direction you blocked, allowing you to block bullets back at a player (especially useful with snipers). Also, the Halloween Disco Boss' Implosion attack can be blocked back at him.

If you or your opponent punch at the same time, it doesnt hurt you and your opponent, you get a circle thingy, so try other direction that your opponent dont know which direction you use,
Blocking might be the best tactics. When you block any incoming attack, they're unable to punch, leaving them open. Blocking also block any bullets ( Excluding lasers, spikes, lava, others like the barrels and snakes and environmental stuff ). It deflects the bullets, allowing you to block bullets back at a player ( useful with snipers and Desert eagle )
