One Controller, Two players Spawn Bug
Whenever I try to play the game with my pc controller, two stick figures spawn. There is no way to control the second one and trying to use my keyboard only spawns another.

Same thing happened to me. I actually had 2 different controllers that did the same thing.

This worked for me too. Here's how you get there:

go to the Control Panel (small icons) > Devices and Printers > right click the controller in question > Properties > select "HID-compliant game controller" and click Properties (or just double click that entry) > Click on "Change settings" on General (first tab), the select "Driver" on the second tab, then click "Disable Device".

When you want to enable this again, just click "Enable Device" on the exact same button you disabled it.

For the record, my Xbox Elite controller has no issues, but another wired Xbox 360 controller did have the issue.

This should help fix the issue.

This is for any future brave adventurer. The solution is to hide the original controllers using hidhide. Good luck out here.

Right clicking on the controllers does nothing in WIndows 11. Nothing I've found so far works to solve this very silly problem.

I'm having the same problem as the original poster. I'm using Windows 11 with a Bluetooth controller. When I use the controller in Bluetooth mode and join a game, two players spawn. However, if I use the same controller in wired mode, only one player spawns. I've tried removing different drivers and instances of the controller, but nothing has worked. If your controller has a wired option, this is an easy workaround.
Thanks @Gusboto for the hint. Had the same issue with my Xbox One S controller using Bluetooth in Windows 11. Switching to USB solved it.

I had the same issue with 4 xbox controller.

What i did is i enabled the steam input for xbox controlles and then i went to Steam\steamapps\common\StickFightTheGame\StickFight_Data\Plugins and renamed XInputInterface32.dll to XInputInterface32.dll.bak just to disable the game from loading it. So the game is using only steam input.

I think its an issue somewhere between microsoft and steam
With Steam Input enabled, for me it works with my Xbox One S controller via Bluetooth, no need to rename the dll.

Fun fact: If I only rename the dll, the only character that spawns when hitting a button is the one I actually cannot control. :shrugemoji:
