Always 2 player...

When I press a button on the Main Menu, 2 characters appear... There is one that don't move and there is me. It's a problem because with this, I can't go online... Is there someone that already had this problem and is there a fix?

I also have the some problem, using a controller as well... One of the figures doesn't move and one is me. How do I fix this?

A character will join for every input device. Start the game, and never touch your keyboard. If you press anything on tehe keyboard, a keyboard controlled character will appear alongside your controller controlled character.

I actually encountered this problem from having too many inputs for one controller. I had ds4windows running the ps4 as an xbox controller through windows and steam was detecting my controller as just a ps4 controller. So I had to disable one of them. It also helps to go into your device settings and remove all controllers on there and then reconnect your controller and retry it.

If you have a wired controller, only 1 character will appear but with a wired one 2 appear, weird... I can just use a wired controller to play!

Apparantly, this isn't the problem : I never press anything on my keyboard and 2 characters still appear. The one that don't move isn't even controllable with the keyboard!

Nope. I tried with different controllers along the years and I still have the same problem.
I even forgot I had the game since I never play it. Sorry.

i tried the big picture mood and it did the trick , but dont forget the controller setting to be on

Found a solution for this that worked for our wireless Xbox controller.

Go to Steam Settings >> Controllers and enable "Enable Steam Input for XBox Controllers"

Now your steam libraries will register one controller instead of two as Steam Input acts as a man in the middle between your computer and the game for controller input.

I imagine the same is true for other controller types.
