Welcome to the Stick Fight FAQ where we will attempt to answer your questions! :)

The game crashes on launch/Content file locked/black screen

For Crashes on startup, please try the following things:

- Make an exception for the game with your anti-virus, it may be removing game files.
- Update your graphic drivers
- Update windows.
- Verify the integrity of the game files
- Run Steam as an administrator
- If you have Citrix workspace installed please disable it

Force DirectX 9 on launch:
Go to your Steam Library.
- Find the game and right-click it, then select "Properties"
- Under the General Tab, click "Set Launch Options" and a dialogue box will appear.
- Type in "-force-d3d09" (without the quotes) and click "OK"
- Close the Properties window.


Will the game be for PS4/Switch/Xbox?
Yes! The game is getting ported :)

I am unable to join a game/I only get a circle with a cross when I join quick match.

My stick/My friend's stick figure doesn’t move!
This is also most likely due to the firewall, please open the ports listed in the thread linked above. If you're using controllers, make sure they're supported by our plugin: http://www.gallantgames.com/pages/incontrol-supported-controllers

Is it possible to buy a 4-pack of the game?

What are the controls of the game for keyboard?
WASD-keys for moving/jumping, right-click to block, left click to punch or shoot and F for throwing weapons. Chat is Enter :)

Will there be any updates to the game?
Yes! There will be some updates and bug fixes but Stick Fight was originally a side project by four devs that was only being worked on during weekends and late evenings. We now have a support studio working on bug fixes and updates but they will be infrequent.

Will there be single player/AI?
There are no current plans for a single-player mode in the game.

My controller spawns two stick dudes!
Plug all the controllers in before starting the game, if you use a wireless one, connect it to your pc before starting the game.

Sometimes this isn't really a bug with the game, but with windows assigning all of them as the same controller (controller 1)

After connecting them up and booting the game, press the A button in sequence (so not all at once) and it should work fine.

Also, make sure that you're using a controller supported by the plugin we use, the full list can be found here: http://www.gallantgames.com/pages/incontrol-supported-controllers


Will you add workshop support to the game?!
Yes! The game has a map editor.

Why won't my custom maps show up for my friend?!
Make sure that the custom maps you've made are public to the workshop here on steam.

I'm getting Steam not initialized when starting the game

The following steps may help fix the problem:

1. Right-click on Steam.exe.

2. Select Properties>Compatibility.

3. Click the checkbox marked "Run this program as an administrator".

4. Right click on the exe.

5. Select Properties>Compatibility.

6. Click the checkbox marked "Run this program as an administrator".

7. Launch the game through your Steam Library.


The game only launches in my taskbar

It seems the game launcher won't recognize your monitor. Please go into your computers display settings and change the screen resolution and then change it back. If it doesn't work, let us know.

Will the game come to consoles?

Yes! Consoles are currently in the works :)
