How to invite friends in steam

can you please explain how you invite friends in steam to play together?

Hi! You press shift and tab to enter the steam overlay menu and then you right click a friend and press invite to game :)

Press aswd to start, then move to the room on the right of the screen and jump into the "host" box

After that, switch the lever to not add randoms to the game, press shift+tab to bring up the steam overlay.
Open your friends list, double click on the friend you want to invite to open chat, then press the little triangle next to their username to bring up the context menu, scroll down a bit till you see "invite to game"

You can invite to game a friend if he have the game you play, if not you can only invite to watch. This function is good to not trigger you to invite a game what you dont have, and your friend will be know, you have no this game. :)

That option is not in my friends list for anyone, even if they're also in the game already. Only option I have is to "launch game" and that does nothing.

Usually if both players trying to connect to eachother relaunch steam you will get the "Invite to game" button in that dropdown list. Also, make sure both you and your friend update steam and the game and verify the integrity of the game files, as well as make sure you jump into the "Host Match" box on the far right of the lobby before looking for the "Invite to game" button.
