how to play with my steam friends

I'm windows and he is mac,when he invites me,it shows cannot connect to the host,why

Try hosting and invite him. It might work, it works when this is happening to me. lf this doesnt work make sure that you're HOSTING a match and not playing "quick match" because sometimes inviting someone to a quick match doesnt work espaciially when there are 4 players (4 players are max, 5th player can't join)

To play with your Steam friends:
1. Host the match.
2. Pres Shift+Tab (by default) and just invite them.

But if this doesn't work to you and you get message "Cannot connect to host" make sure you try this:

1. Turning your firewall off
2. Make sure your antivirus is not blocking any outcoming and incoming connections in any way
3. Forward ports required by the game, but beware as this require public IP and you need to request that from your ISP. The ports should be 3478, 4379, 4380 UDP and if this doesn't work try also forwarding 45000 to 61000 BOTH.

It should work im on mac and my friend was on windwos it worked both ways add me ill help you

Oh guys I realized that it was because the firewall in China made it hard, I will try your ways and thx a lot :)
