Is there any rules? Does the game have an end?
I've been playing local coop and we kill each other multiple times with no end in sight.
Even thoug that looks, we would love to have a "x amount of wins WINS the game" like in Duck Game or any other of those coop games.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks!

Hello! If you're playing locally some stats will appear after a couple of games other than that the game isn't supposed to be competitive so no winner is announced :)

Can I say... your on the edge of dictating how your buyer will think. You can't dictate if the game is not going to be competitive or not. I think I understand your point of view but if there is any element of winning/losing then it is by definition competitive.

On the other hand, you've effectively gone back to old school, No drawn out intros, no save/load screens, no signing in, you've delivered a game which goes straight into the action, which when you're playing locally; this is all you want. You've created a gem.

I remember many fruitless occassions setting up complicated couch co-op games, slowly losing the interest of the crowd. "reconnect that" "sign in there" etc.

I think you *must* keep the simplistic nature but at the same time not take away features because you want the gamer to think a certain way.

Make the defaults the way you want the game to be percieved. BUT add advanced options! Would it kill you to add a little option to display 4 coloured numbers in the bottom left of the screen?

You have to appreciate that If you do not add the option people are going to start counting on paper, or someone will make a hack/mod, help us not do that :)

Thank you for your feedback, we really appreciate it.

We do have some things in mind to make the feel of "winning" a match a bit more rewarding. I'll relay the suggestions about options to Wilhelm :)

I wrote a nice reply but my electricity went and I lost the whole thing.

I was just saying that the feeling of "winning" is very much present, between the chaos punctuated by the final shot/hit to then everything distilling into stillness, when I feel i win I feel i win.

What I meant is that the current casual scoring system is perfect for a casual online experience, but not for those looking to play couch, or even organise a Stick Fight night.

Take Mario Smash Brothers Melee, they have the option to do a 64 person tournament, the game itself can only play 4 people at once but they are catering to the social local player wishing to be competetive.

Another thing i mentioned is the natural flow of ideas and game types being created within the gaming community. On that map where you're on a conveyor belt with boxes flying at you from the right, a number of times i've had it that one person will chat "Race! Race!" in order for the players to race without fighting. Or more commonly people will shout "Team! Team!" in order to get some sort of co-op team experience.

My point here is that this is a sort of hack, not done with code or cheats, it's just the vanilla behaviour of the gamer, this is what the gamer wants and it is achievable without code, just restraint, social rules and communication. This is the best feedback you can find, as the gamer will always try to find a way to do the things they want to do, I think a good developer would give them the tools to do it instead of retraining the natural flow of fun, let the gamers show you what fun is to them.

I love the idea of a race type level or a 2v2 with no friendly fire and these are just natural ideas created by the in-game culture, i'm sure there are more like a sniper type level, 3v1, zero gravity.

I think I wrote more before but between fixing my fuse box and now i've forgotten, Thanks for reading the feedback.

i think it would be nice to see a score screen, maybe after a couple of games... you don't have to have a XXX wins or something like that, but maybe just a point system: every "map won" is a point, after 10 maps you see a quick recap screen saying the points, and thhan straighht into another map, and so on, even endlessly.
Plus with a system like that in place it would than be possible, maybe, to create custom games with a point goal: when a player reach that goal, game ends; it would be nice to have something like that when you play custom games with friends.

Definitely agree with this. Some sort of winning should be possible to set up. Would be definitely nice. Amazing game though as it is already! According to steamcharts it must have sold quite a few thousands already which is great to see.

All it needs now is level editor, stats/goals/2v2/more options for custom games and it would be perfect. Hoping that the rather nice sales can mean devs can add at least some of those things.

Cheers.

I'm on board with this too. The game needs some sort of ending point.

Agreed that we need an ending. Even if it's just the ability to stop whenever you'd like to see the awards. You could even get creative and make sure that every player wins something. Even if it's most jumped or bounced or whatever.

As long as it's an option, I'm all for this. Personally I prefer the fact that there's no scoring system/end. It reduces competitiveness which, in my particular group of friends, makes the game more enjoyable. Each round is its own game. Of course I understand the desire some players have to declare a winner/keep score, I just personally like how it is now. Of course, if it's made an option, everyone wins :)

He's not saying it can't be considered competitive, he's saying it wasn't meant to be. But yes, the game is supposed to be a simple fighting game to let out stress or just to have a good time.
(Except for when you're me and playing the game is nearly impossible because of the desync that I have and my brother doesn't for some reason.)
