Can't connect to friends

I try to connect to my friends but it says that I need to check my firewall or something

Got the same Problem, none of the fixes pinned in the forum works for me, yesterday i could play with my friends and had no problem and 3 to 4 hrs later suddenly no one could connect to anyone else anymore, Ports are forwarded, firewall was deactivated etc. If we join into a quickmatch none of us sees the others move, they just stand still.

That is really strange, and everyone is experiencing the same thing?

Another friend bougth the game now aswell and somehow all 3 of us can connect to him now and play as 4, but we still aren't able to host a game ourselves without him, none except the one new guy can connect (always the same error message, check firewall...), i just can't understand why the 3 of us can't make a game ourselves, it just won't work, i really tried everything pinned in the forum several times. In Quickmachtes we still don't see each other move, but in our friends game (the one who bought the game yesterday) we do now.

And your friends have done all of the steps in the guides as well?

yes, all of of us tried the steps. the strange thing is that we were able to play for around 2-3 hours and then after restarting it a few hours later we weren't able to play together anymore.
The guy who bought the game yesterday is a flat mate of mine and all of us can connect to him and play together, so i figured since we both have the same router (Lan cable to computer) it can't be a router or port forwarding problem.
No we did not try hamachi and tbh i don't really want to try it since i don't like the software...

Ok, i put one of my friends on my steam block list by mistake while he got the error message and suddenly he was in the game, i have no clue how, but we can play now. I am really, REALLY confused right now, but at least we can play.. :D

so I found a fix to this: when in the main lobby, walk over to the door on the right but don't go through. Where it says online friends there it should change to how many are online when you are next to the door. Make sure your friend is in the host lobby, then click on the online friends or go to the menu where it says "join game" and click it. Voila. If this doesn't work and you or your friend is on Mac, make sure to go into setting and disable firewall.

why, i make my friends join my game "invite to game" with random players can join on off and when they accept the invite they just got to the main menu without error messages
