Need help with Costume Mods

I got to read the guide on modding a few times,but never managed to put a costume mod in the game.
Does someone has a better way to explain to a noob like me?

I'll be making a guide soon dabbling on how to do this. I imagine a guide would be more helpful than me typing it out here cause I can take pictures for more clarity (I also need to do some organizing so I can take you straight to the character skin files rather than have you un-archive the entire game).
