No easy mode
Sorry but having problems with the normal difficulty, read a post about an easy setting but not there. Also there is no "training area" available?

Thanks for any help

You have to go to the Extras shop from the game's main menu and buy them using coins earned by playing.

Don't expect to beat it, just last more than 2 mins. I did ok the first go just button mashing- getting worse score trying to play properly. Someene else put "how do you find easy normal and hard difficulty"
Im probably too old and slow for this type of game now, and also not the time to spend days getting good like 30 years ago. will refund

It's really cheap in the extras mode (I think 100 coins, but not sure exactly). You should be able to afford it quite quickly after a few games in Arcade. Training mode can be bought too. It's a great game, but it is your porogative.

Well there's your problem. No, you don't do OK button mashing. Think, strategize. The game even gives tips as how to improve. Age is no excuse, I'm 33 and I can 1CC this no problem.

Are you using a controller? I just tried this game again since I got one today. Had to play on easy to get the hang of things but even then I noticed a difference. I think we all can admit though no matter what the difficulty you will take lots of damage or even lose a life from cheap hits.
You will take damage only if you play badly and there are no cheap hits. Everything is highly telegraphed, you have tons of defensive options to escape any situation such as Special attacks, shoryukens, evasions (up up or down down) and parries that you can even use during hitstun and recovery.

I posted this somewhere else talking about Capcom's Beat'em up bundle, which applies here

1- Don't attack head on. You risk getting hit. Attack from angles that are less risky, or outrange the enemies, or jump at them if they lack good AAs. Don't just run at the closest enemy flailing your arms like Bart Simpson. You'll probably get hit, like in an actual, real fight.
2- Use ranged attacks. This includes weapons, guns or anything that lets you attack without risk. Another thing you can use with this same mindset are
3- Throws. You basically use an enemy as a projectile. They are invincible during startup and when you toss them, which is useful for defense too. Grab someone, toss them into a group to
4- Knock them down. Just as in fighting games, knockdowns are vital. Once you get one, get in and hit them as they wake up (be careful with bosses though, they usually have some sort of instant/invincible wakeup attack to avoid this) and are completely defenseless.
5- Be careful of your surroundings. Keep enemies controlled, don't let them surround you. If you see someone closing in, don't just mash attack on the opponent in front on you. The one in the back will hit you. He will knock you down and you'll be in deep ♥♥♥♥. Instead, move away and try to keep everyone in front of you, or at least only attack if you are not immediately flanked by someone.
6- If in a tight spot, use a "desperation attack", usually done with attack+jump. It will consume some vitality, but less than getting ganged on. Some games like Battle Circuit also have "reversal" attacks like those of Street Fighter that are invincible and cost no resources. Downside is that you can't use them when getting hit, but you can use them when someone is too close for comfort.
7- Health items don't disappear with time. If you are at full life, there's a health item and lots of enemies are about to come at you, just leave the item there, and use it only when you need it.

And a final advice that applies to everything, sound obvious and taken for granted but is usually ignored is: think what you do. Don't mash. See what happens on the screen, pay attention to enemy formations and see what can you use to your advantage, and learn from your mistakes when you die.[/quote}
Everything you need is there, the game is fair. As long as you don't button mash and think things through, that is.

Seems you have not paid attention to Fight N Rage. While I have gotten noticeably better at the game when the dev has to make public statements about the difficulty that should tell you something. Not everyone has the time or the desire to devote themselves to a game. There are other things to do.

It's not a difficult game, but if you're not used to the genre, then it may seem difficult. Spacing, crowd control (keeping enemies on one side) and learning enemy habits are fundamental to beat em ups. You need to think, strategize and execute.

I'm not young, not an especially good player but I 1cc'd the game after a few attempts with Ricardo. Difference is I have some experience with beat em ups.

Nazerath's post is very helpful. Instead of trying to argue with him, try to heed his advice.

I just beat it on normal. I mostly play RPGs with a few strategy, FPS's and Third Person Shooters to break things up. Only got this game for the same reason I got the FPSs. Something different. I never really played Beat Em Ups much before this. Plus I do not have the best dex with my fingers.

When we talk about "beating" this type of game we usually mean finishing the game without using any continues (aka a 1cc).

That is the goal of many arcade games, such as beat em ups and shmups.

There is even an achievement for a 1cc on this game.

Well I doubt that will happen for me. But that is fine. I do not care about achievements anyway because they do not give you any in game bonuses most of the time. Stardew Valley does but only hats that do not boost stats.

Yes, it tells me that people don't know how to play these games, and prefer to complain about the difficulty rather than actually learning how to play. THere's no need to "devote" yourself to this game, I got an 1CC in less than ten hours of play. You just need to learn the basics and stop blaming the game for your shortcomings.

Also an 1CC is not an "achievement", it's the only way you truly beat arcade style games, and you'll never understand beat'em ups unless you set an 1CC goal. Any other way is just button mashing your way through, and that's how you get people complaining about things that are not there.

That's a lie. I was playing Gal. comboing an enemy in the air, and a Bruce Lee Monkey leap in from off screen and did a rising kick that hit me. There was literally no way for me to avoid damage in that situation. Even if I used a special at that point, it would have cost health anyway.

Plus, I have literally been ping ponged between two minotaurs like a tennis ball, even if I air recovered, I still took the hit.

Not to mention the raft level in general.

The game is full of cheap stuff. Over coming a lot of it is simply trial and error and memorization.
