Yeah it doesn't. I used some of that one's hair to paste over some of the sprites where the bow was "on top" of Gal's hair in a way that erasing it would also need me to fully reconstruct her hair underneath. I would've liked to simply use Diane's spritesheet but its sprites are in different positions.
Anyway I'm pretty much done with it but I gotta do some tests. I'll probably upload it tomorrow.
Very nice!
Ah yeah that'd work. I kinda forgot about that method.
Which kinda means I just manually erased all of these bow sprites for nothing. Erf that took hours...But at least it's a base blackbelt Gal spritesheet so I won't have to do your method to get the "same" result. Still, it'd probably be a better idea to do it your way for everyone else, as I had to do some reconstruction here and there and thus I'm pretty sure Diane's sprite sheet is closer to the original look than mine since well...it's an original.

Ah that explains why when I tried to edit one of the effects for what I thought was her special aerial attack, nothing happened. Was hoping to transform it into a "fire" based attack but eh oh well.
Anyway an update to my little edit.....I don't think I'll be uploading it. I'm no artist and after tweaking and editing and testing over and over, I still see noticeable "glitches" in her hair where the bow was when she walks. This is due to me trying to reconstruct it a little after removing the bow. You won't really notice it if you're not looking for it? But it's still noticeable to me and I just can't upload something like that.
That said Loli's Revenge's suggestion for using Diane's alt skin is probably the best if you want the "furry" look without the bow. As for the "Neko" look (normal skin, furry ears. Gal's Blackbelt skin), it shouldn't be hard to mod Diane's skin to fit that as well.
Anyways if I make anymore edits/reskins that are worth while I'll upload em.
...Wow o_o Seems you can potentially make a whole new game if you really wanted to. Color me impressed.
Very nice work, athough this confirms the worry I had about weapons. I guess they will need to be manually recoded to appear at the correct posistion, which hurts my head thinking about it.
Btw, is there still a free version of GM on steam I can use for the sprite mappings? I religiously started using Paint.Net a couple years back, and havent looked back, and got rid of it, but I cant seem to find it again.
Edit: Nevermind, I was using GM studio 1, which is floating round the web.
I use Game Maker 8's sprite editor to find and label the sprites, because it was the first version of Game Maker where transparency worked differently. I have an older version of Paint.NET that still supported Windows XP, so I can link to it if anyone wants it.
I'm not sure someone posted that yet, you have to have Streets of Rage 3
That ROM Hack of Streets of Rage 3 was made before one of us found out that the sprites are actually spritesheet PNG's packed inside .dat files.
Thanks for the weapon data info man, thats going to be neccessery for porting characters.
I phrased myself wrong lol, I have Paint.Net, with a mountain of special FX and animation plugins, but didnt have a copy of game-maker. I did get myself another copy of GM though.

I decided to color him in the colors of my Youtube Channel Mascot
I think he turned out pretty good.
