3rd party EULA?
Greetings sebagamesdev,

I recently came across Fight'N Rage by chance while browsing throught the upcoming releases section of the Steam client and has been keeping a close eye on it since as it looks like a pretty cool game.

Now, I do have a question or two that I'd like to see if I could ask about the release of the game...

In the last day or so, I noticed that it said that you'll have to agree to a 3rd party EULA in order to play this game, but there is no link to any EULA there as far as I can see, so..... What can you tell me about this 3rd party EULA?

Also, with the recent event of Sonic Mania's inclusion of the Denuvo DRM, there seems to be a kind of "Denuvo panic" going on in regard to certain game releases, and so I figured that I'd ask just to be sure; Is there any......."risk" of any 3rd party DRM being attatched to this game?

Thankful for a response.... :)

Sincerely. Jade

Hmm, I don't know what are you talking about. This game has no 3rd party EULA. Also, it's not ready to download yet. By the way, this game is DRM free, it only checks if steam is activated in order to perform achievements' evaluation.

Hi,

Thanks for the response. :)

Yeah, the reason why I asked about a 3rd party EULA is because it says on the store page that you need to agree to one when I check the store page for the game. ^^;

Nice to know that is not the case though. :)

Sincerely. Jade

Oh, I see... looks like you're right, I don't know why, but steam is saying that. The only third party I'm using is dotnet redistributable (something that a LOT of games uses), by the way, it's not a DRM. I will check what's happening on the store page and tell you as soon as I can figure out what it means. Thanks for ask about this.

....."No problem" is what I meant to say/lead with. :X

Well, probably this EULA is about "Dot Net 4.5.1 redistributable" which is installed along with the game... probably it has its own EULA. By the way, don't worry about DRM because an EULA (end user license agreement) it's a different thing. The game is DRM FREE.

Oh, I know EULA are different from DRM (well kind of?), but I'm one of those people who actually try, a little too much maybe, to read EULA. Some that I've come across in my days have not been the most enjoyable reads, so I just get a little nervous, uneasy and careful when EULA are involved. Especially for games... But now that I kind of know what it is, I'm not too worried about it... Thank you for letting me know about this, and thanks for keeping the game DRM free... :)

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

That was the factor that drives me to not buy (for now) SOME GAME that was released recently with SOME DRM.

+1 for not using any DRM!

While you're at it can we get a link to the EULA?

I'm not pretty sure, but probably Steam refers to .Net Framework Redistributable EULA (which is needed in order to play the game, but it usually comes preinstalled along with the OS): https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms994405.aspx

It still uses the "bound to the client DRM".

Necrobump, but if I buy this game through Steam now, can I play it without launching Steam? Or should I buy it off GOG instead?

Steam is required to launch the game, otherwise you have to get on GOG.
