The game in DX9 or DX11 will launch to a grey screen. You have sound and menu but otherwise its grey. The game also loads my save into a solid grey screen.
Proton 7 and GE-Proton7-20 tested
Can you try setting anti-aliasing to disabled and restarting the game? We don't really have this sort of setup for sideloading the EGS version, so I'm not entirely sure if we'll be able to solve it.
Worked for me. Thanks a lot.
I fixed the grey screen issue zkilling described when installing the Epic Games version of Bugsnax through the Heroic Games Launcher with the following steps:
1. Download "DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010)" from Microsoft
2. Install Bugsnax in the Heroic Games Launcher
3. Click on the settings cog for Bugsnax in Heroic Games Launcher
4. Click on the button that says "run exe in this prefix", find and run the downloaded DirectX from Step 1
5. It will ask you where to extract files, I just picked C:
6. Once it is done, find the extracted files in the Bugsnax prefix, you will find another .exe among all the .cab files
7. Run this exe in the Bugsnax prefix, just like in Step 4
8. Go through the install for DirectX
9. Once the install is complete, launch Bugsnax. The game should be rendering properly now.
