Wintergatan Marble Machine (and other projects)
Marble Machine
I have decided that I want to build a machine in MuX that can play the full song of "Wintergatan - Marble Machine". And I want to share my progress - and maybe get some helpfull tips along the way ^^

You can download the midi-file from my Google Drive folder and open it with an online sequencer to see all the notes.
https://onlinesequencer.net/import

So far I've only made the vibraphones and the first 6 bars out of 128...
But I'll get there eventually, hopefully :P

Upcomming tasks:
- Find a faster way to to record notes (pressing buttons > connecting strings)
- Make drums and bass in a creative way.

Question:
- How to find the perfect values of frequency, amplitude, halftime and phase for the synthesizor parts (see cello.mux or synth.mux)
- Do you have any other suggestions for my level?

Latest build (04.04.2018)
vibra0.4.mux

Hey Zymf!

Awsome scenes! thanks for sharing! I really like the pinball game, very creative!

It's also very cool that you're using the dispatch to sequence the sound. You are literally "hard-wiring" the melody. Neat.

Love the Wintergatan-inspired scene. I tried to add a crank with a tempo control similar to the machine in the video. (you now have to "wind it up")

To answer your questions about making more realistic type sounds, I would suggest adding some resonance. If you add another oscillator an octave above the other one, it will make the sound a little more realistic.

Example:

This is an extremely interesting topic, and I think it would be cool to make a tutorial or some examples that demonstrate how to mimic real-life sounds in MuX.

Hope this helps, and have a great weekend!

Thanks! - I'll check them out, once I get the chance :D

It's rather fun to solve problems like this in MuX, when you have time to play around with different solutions.

You too!

Hi Zymf, we're super happy to have had the opportunity of placing 'zymf_vibra' and 'zymf_shooting' in the MuXer hall. Bless you! MuXers, check out Zymf's awesome scenes!
